Hi Ben, this was a very insightful video. I had a few doubts, we sell high-value products and are trying to get additional sales through paid social. Currently, when we calculate our ROAS it's at 169% and the ad sets that drive purchase as a conversion event are in Learning Limited. I feel for the amount spent 169% ROAS is quite low. We have structured our audiences also. I just needed a small clarification if 169% as ROAS good or bad.

Very well presentation Ben. is it possible, in theory, for an ad set to come out of Learning Limited phase if it does not get 50 purchases in 7 days BUT by looking at the conversion rate, I am hopeful that it will get 50 conversions in 11 days? So basically, in short the question boils down to, "is 50 conversion events PLUS 7 days combination is a mandatory condition to end Learning Limited or can it happen also when 50 conversion events are achieved in more than 7 days". Any 1st hand experience with this situation?

hey Ben. I watched most of your videos and I learned a lot. I am running an ecommerce store and promoting it with facebook ads. The moment I started to advertise one product, it went through the roof. CTR 8%, cpc £0.11, cpa £6. Beautiful stats. However, after a couple of days, it went to learning limited and performance dropped significantly. I increased my adset budget with 20% for the last 2 days. Is the drop in performance caused by the fact that it went to learning limited? The only metric that is bad is the cpa. the rest of the metrics are still good.

Thanks Ben - love your work! Is there a downside to only running 2 ad sets in a CBO campaign? A retargeting and a prospecting? or is there synergy involved in running several prospecting ad sets? My logic is that if I focus my budget on one ad set that is performing, it will get out of learning limited.. or am I missing some upside to having several ad sets in a CBO..? Thanks mate.
@GoodfellaNell
@GoodfellaNell 2 года назад
1. No problem running 2 adsets 2. Personally I'd have the retarget and prospect adsets in their own campaign. You have 2 completely different objectives. Example..an look a like add to cart audience looks different than a look a like purchase audience. Thus, they belong in 2 different campaigns to better optimize your pixel and so it will not confuse you in decision making. 3. I hope you're not starting out in CBO. I suggest a CBO after you figure out your campaign in ABO.
@BenHeath

Thanks Johnnie. We would usually want to run multiple ad sets so that we can test different audience options. But if you narrowed down your cold audience targeting to one option that performs really well, that's fine.

Hi Ben. I recently had a campaign that was performing really well, so I doubled the budget from $25 to $50 per day. I expected it to go from active to "Learning" but it immediately went into Learning Limited! Do you think I should just wait and see what happens? Thank you and I love your videos!

Would it be a good idea to duplicate the campaign and increase the budget by maybe 15-20% if it's in Learning Limited? That way the audience starts fresh with a larger budget, maybe might help push through that Learning Limited without increasing CPMs? Just a thought - not entirely sure it would even work.

Hello Ben , I have been binging your videos since I discovered your channel in the last 2-3 days. I noticed how honest and helpful you are and that you reply to almost all the comments. I wanna thank you for that & I have an off topic question , I would appreciate your thoughts highly. I know you prefer to run up to 5 ad sets with ( up to 4 creatives or so each ) in a single campaign ( pref CBO ) and run that one conversion campaign Does that mean 3 cold audience TOF Ad sets , with like 1 Re-engaging MOF Ad set ( maybe a LLA , obv diff creatives ) & 1 Very warm BOF Ad set ( website visitors, add to carts , initiated checkouts and such ... ) ? or how else would you do it ? would you run a separate campaign for very warm audiences and optimize it there? Thanks in advance ! Love your channel

I had an ad out that was doing amazing over the first 24 hours, then it went straight into learning limited and it dropped off! Hi Ben, Which optimization for ad delivery is best in traffic campaigns. Link clicks or landing page views. Asking coz when m using link clicks for clients, it's generating tons of clicks but landing page views are going upto $10-15 per page view. With less than 20 page views per week. Love your videos and Been sharing your words for a while!!

Im currently scaling one of my ecom brands and I've been using the detailed targeting expansion button turned on while scaling. This basically gives the the whole world as potential reach. Does this mean that it's "harder" to burn out the audience compared to an interest that is limited to for example 10 million without the button turned on? The detailed expansion button turned on has always been the best when scaling for me.
@stevekurtsalcedo1423

It depends on the countries your targeting. I’m scaling with US NO Interest targeting with detailed targeting expansion button ON and has a potential reach of 220 million. It’s running a creative i had for more than 2 months.

Great Content as always Ben! Would be much appreciate if you can give me some insights about my situation: Been running a campaign with 2 ad sets target 2 countries who use the same languages (25mil & 8 mil population). 3-4 ads per set without using CBO (didn't notice to turn it on). Target to a broad audience (20-40 yrs old , All gender). Spending around $100/day. Both sets perform well for day 3 to day 9 (ROAS from 2 to 12). However it started dropped to 2.6 while one of the ad sets show "learning limited" on day 10 and so I increased 40% of the budget and it still shows the same. Then it comes to day 11, in which the other ad set shows "learning limited" too. In this case, would you recommend me to open a new campaign and combining this 2 countries into the same ad set or keep working on the existing campaign(like raise the budget or combine the 2 ad sets)? **Also, may I know whether your company works with non-English market and where can I get the further information about the service and fees? Thank you so much. Have a great day! :)
@BenHeath
@BenHeath 2 года назад
Hi Wilson, Great question. I'm not a big fan of raising the budget just to get out of learning limited. I think that can backfire and result in an increase is cost per conversion. I would have given the campaigns more time. Now that you have made the changes I would think about combining. Pooling the conversion data is likely to be helpful - particularly initially. Sure, you can find out more info via our website: leadguru.co.uk

Hello Ben, I have a small question: sometimes I run ads that go "Active" without Learning phase. I mean they go into analysis phase and then they go "Active" at the same time they are published. Usually this happens when i have Ad Sets with small budget. (ABO) Other times I run ads that go into "Learning" phase, and then "Learning Limited" phase after a couple of days. This usually happens when I use a higher budget on the adset. (ABO) So apparently it is the opposite of what Facebook suggests... what's the truth? Thank you!

Is purchases really something the fb algo can actually optimize for compared to add to carts? If someone comes to your website and adds items to their cart but don't purchase, I feel like there is likely a different issue at hand. If someone is willing to add to cart they're probably willing to buy, but there is an issue with social proof, trust, site development, the product, the offer etc and thus the optimization is needed on your side not facebook algos side. If you think this is incorrect please let me know why
@saakmarketing10
@saakmarketing10 11 месяцев назад
What do you think about changing the optimization event "lead" from the thank you page to appointment booking page? The funnel is form fill up page -> appointment booking page -> thank you page. You're still getting leads at the end of the day.
@BenHeath
@BenHeath 11 месяцев назад
You'll almost certainly get better results when you optimize for the event that's lower down the funnel. I'd stick with the thank you page. Otherwise Meta will probably find people that are highly likely to take step 1 or 2 but not keep going. I know that sounds weird but I've seen it happen so many times.

Hi Ben, I have a CBO campaign ($50 a day, conversion) that is running well. It only has 1 ad set (broader targeting) at the moment as I killed 3 ad sets that didn’t perform well. My question is, if I increase the budget to $100 a day but add another 3 ad sets ( LLA , web visitors etc), will this affect my existing campaign? Or I should create a new campaign ($50) for LLA and Warmest audiences ? Thank you
@BenHeath
@BenHeath 2 года назад
Great question. I would add those elements to your existing campaign. Yes it will affect it - but that's what you want. You want it to help improve results :) I would usually not increase budget and add elements at the same time. You want to see what affect the budget increase has by itself first.

Ive been using Facebook ads for a little more than a month now, and every time I have a campaign it will stop converting after about 4 days. Do you think this is why? I had a $30/day campaign running and my cost per purchase was as low as $8 at one point then on day 4 it just completely drops off! If I make an exact duplicate of it with the same ads and interests it will convert great until day 3-4 and the same thing will happen. How do I stop this from happening? Is it because I’m not getting 50 conversions?
@GoodfellaNell
@GoodfellaNell 2 года назад
If it says learning limited fb will throttle your results. You need 50 purchases/sign ups (your desired objective) in 7 days. If you're running an old ad before the iOS 14 update, that can be the reason, especially after excessive duplicating. Are you getting enough conversions from your ads? At $30/day you might just need to spend more to get more conversions so that you can buy enough data to optimize your pixel past 50 conversions to leave the learning phase.

I think you have started really well there but I wouldn't combine the 5. Not unless they are very small. If you leave the three winners running long enough, performance will diverge and you can further optimise.
