If you haven't encountered Ditto yet it will show up as "???" This is because when you focus on a pokemon you haven't caught/battled yet, their name will only show as "???" If you press ZL. So, if you use ZL and a pokemon's name shows up as "???" but you've already encountered said pokemon before in battle. That's Ditto.
My first wild ditto I found ended up being shiny one hiding as a rotom. It’s also worth noting that the rotom didn’t look shiny before the disguise went away.
Another thing not quite yet relevant to Scarlet snd Violet while Home is not compatible with the games, is that Everstones also allow you to breed regional variants of pokemon, provided of course those pokemon have regional variant base forms. For example, Alolan Raichu cannot be bred for, as the Pikachu in Alola and Paldea are the exact same and it's being in the Alola region itself which causes the variation. However, Galarian Slowpoke can be bred for, as Slowpoke, being the base of the species, is different from those found in Paldea.
I’m surprised you didn’t go into detail what meals can give egg power 3 or how fast egg power makes it, I’m trying to be efficient and I have no clue how long to wait
This video is lacking a lot of info and I’m still left with a ton of questions :/ like how to actually get hidden abilities or how to see each individual IV or is it a generalization now of all the stats
@@brypizzaguy I can help with those, you can see IVs from beating the game, and to get hidden abilities you need to catch a Pokémon from a raid, they’ll have a chance to have their hidden abilitiy, higher chance for higher star raids
Would be cool if you could get the parent Pokémon to hold both a power stone and a power up item to get a guaranteed 6/6 star IV lol I assume there’s no other way of making it happen other than RNG. Plus if you use an everstone to pass the nature down that’s another item stopping you from using the Destiny Knot to pass down 5 IV’s… Whys it have to be so complicated. Lol
I can't decide if I like the getting eggs from picnics change or not... With the day care you could run around in front and collect eggs while working towards hatching eggs and replace the parents as you got better babies. This new system seems convenient once you've got a good base of max IV breeders built up but getting started seems like a massive pain.
Money and LP are so easy to grind in this game, the bottle cap method is easily the way to go. This is my first Pokémon game, I appreciate you explaining this to me! Otherwise I would’ve had no idea
Cotton. Babies inherit 4 IVs from their parents. But they can overlap, which makes it a coin toss whether they get the one from the mother or father. The Destiny Know makes it so the parent holding it will pass down 3 stats instead of 2, but again, they can overlap.
That's not how the Destiny Knot works. It guarantees 5 of the 12 total IVs from either parent will pass down. It does not guarantee it will be the parent holding it.
@@Omicron716 that was how it was described when the Destiny knot was first introduced, and it fits the IV patterns I've been getting over years of breeding. Unless they changed it recently, that is how it works.
@@BlackHoleEye The Destiny Knot has literally never worked that way, ever. Its functionality with regards to breeding has always been the same; It guarantees five of the twelve parental IVs will be passed down to the offspring. I don't know where you got the idea it makes one specific parent pass down 3 stats. It's never done that, and there's never been a reputable source (First party or otherwise) that's ever claimed it does.
IMPORTANT: I do not know if it's just me but Synchronize does not work in this version. I breeded several ralts with synchronize and legit natures to catch some dittos for breeding but the nature of the wild pokemon does not change.
My goal is to breed Sudowoodo with a Ditto, where the Ditto holds a power item, and the Sudowoodo holds a destiny knot. The only problem is that when I try to breed with an egg power 2 sandwich, I get no eggs. Does it matter who holds which item? While doing this, there are no other pokemons in the party/picnic.
But what's the point in all this when you can just hyper train?? I understand perfect IVs can't breed down but wouldn't you just hyper train instead of breeding over and over or is it because hyper training is expensive?? Can someone clear this up for me please kindly
Pretty sure Charcadet in the overworld does NOT have Flame Body ability. I hope this comment reaches people who would waste time farming them for the ability.
why arent you able to get all perfect pokmon once your two adults go into the bedroom... i have a ditto i got in random gift from sword and i switched it over to scarlet it was holding a destiny knot and i had to buy it again and attach it to my ditto, then i start trying to make perfect evee's and did eventually get one male so now im giong and making eggs constantly and i only get one evee with a perfect 6 IV once in a while why isnt it constant so that i can get all the males and females i want for their evelutions so i can trade them away??? i was starting to wonder if the ditto i got had a bottlecap hypertrained one of its IV's and i just cant tell... can anyone help?
Just wanted to say Hollow and Group, yall are baller, Love your content started watching your Elden Ring videos. Love seeing content that's actually good, Keep up the work.
Pardon the potentially dumb question… but isn’t breeding for stats kinda/sorta becoming obsolete, considering the inclusion of Bottlecaps, Nature Mints, and Ability Patches in this game? Not hating on the mechanic, just kinda curious why someone would use breeding rather than items to creat a competitive team, outside of either early-game access or a 0 Speed IV for Trick Room Pokémon.
Well what do you do if you have none of those items? And it's likely you won't have them unless you grind for them (if it's like previous games). Breeding will always be there though for free.
Items and to max ivs nature and 52 vitamins is really expensive, once you have a natural five iv pokemon, you can more easily get other mons in that egg group and bridge between egg groups
Loved the video, only one correction. Flame body doesn't have out of combat functionality in this game anymore. We already knew it since Leak season but by now it has been all but confirmed. However it still only takes 1000 Steps to hatch the eggs so it's faster than before anyway.
Is breeding actually worth it? been breeding for like 10 hours and not even close to all perfect stats.. is it better to just buy mints and stuff to boost?
I used a 5/6 BEST iv Eevee and a 2/6 BEST IV Ditto for breeding Eevee is a boy gender I gave my eevee the destiny knot expecting my hatches to all have 5/6 of his EVs, yet the EV's im getting are very different Is that not how you just said Destiny Knot works?
It’s pretty equal. It uses less of your materials by breeding for IVs and natures and you won’t have to scramble around for those as much and you can hold onto your mints and bottle caps for something else like Pokémon you find in Terra Raids with unique Terra Types, shinies you find in the wild, legendaries if you choose to use them, or a Pokémon evolution you find in the wild that’s a pain to evolve. Everything else you can just breed. That’s how I do it anyways
Need to jump into a 6 star raid and be lucky enough to get ditto. Which you only have access to after you've finished the post game content. In the 6 star raid you get 5 perfect ivs guaranteed and a 1/32 chance to get the perfect 6iv ditto.
Jesus, finding a specific nature using synchronize is either broken or just not in the game. Is there any kind of replacement? From what I know it doesn’t seem like there is, other than just catching/hatching hoards of the same Pokémon (annoying af) 😩😡😢
Pokemon skills has no use out of combat as far as i know, i mean, they removed for this gen, so no more synchronice to find x nature pokemon, no more flame body to hatch eggs etc...
So the power braclet does not seem to be working for breeding. Put it on a Mon with Best attack IV and none of the 10 eggs had best attack when hatched.
its kinda sad but breeding feels pointless now outside high end optimized mons. like wanting zero speed or attack EVs for trickroom and to reduce foul play dmg. they have made mints, berries, and vitamins so easy to get. even ability patches aren't that hard. its easier than breeding perfect mons.
I don't like the sandwich idea there's a lot of stupid things in this that don't seem to help nor does it seem easy a lot of it's just time wasters instead I wish I could just go to the store and the game and then buy an item and do it that way money is easy in the new games
Oh god ... they are making eggs while Picnicking now? oh no. What were they thinking? I mean ... it makes things a lot more convenient and incentivises using the feature (unlike the camping was). But think about the Implications. Rule 34 will do unspeakable things to this game ...
99% of players are not doing this for natures or IV lol. 99% don’t play competitive. This is for shiney’s for most people. Zero point to have perfect Pokémon if you’re not playing comp.
