I would also like to add one advanced tip I use for grenade throwing units.. If ur in a forest and there's a hidden enemy like 120-150m away, you can manually throw the nade by attacking ground ('T' key) where u think he is and the blast will still get him. Very useful in a grenade vs flame situation. It also works for city blocks. But you have to be careful and use this tactics only within 100m range, because if you do it from further away a) your unit will move and it might reveal the hidden enemy or b) if it has LoS on targeted ground >100m it will shoot with rifles and machine guns.

I was just about to add this. A great trick, particularly if your opponent is moving out of range just before each grenade throw.

I’ve never done this, so that is very useful!

The reason as to why dodging HE in buildings works and it doesn't in forests is because the distance the infantry moves from the source of the explosion is far greater when they just teleport out of the building. This distance is increased even further if there is a second building for them to immedeatly hop into. HE in forests don't 'follow' the squad, most squads are just too slow normally to get away from the explosion.

You are correct, very helpful clarification

You can actually dodge grenades in forests too, but only if you're suppressed already. Immediately after the grenade is thrown, you tell your unit to fallback. The grenade won't "follow" your unit and you'll take minimal damage
@atkpwrgaming

True! Tricky though cause you have to already be sufficiently suppressed

@13:00 The positioning was still good: but it was kinda hilarious how you were describing the infantry as safe and how they couldn't be seen/killed, only for them to get bombed immediately after you started zooming out

Didn’t notice that hahaha

12:47 - I wish it were easier to place units next to a building, instead of them hopping into the buildings, it would open a lot more opportunities to combat. Say, I wish we could hold alt and it would disregard the enter building orders or something. That would be nice. Great guide. Theres another thing I enjoy doing, but I'm not sure how useful it is; when you assault a position with infantry and have half tracks you can highlight the halftrack hit f and right click the infantry unit and the half track will follow the infantry unit, it looks extremely cool to watch. You can also hit Q and order an infantry squad to follow another infantry squad, you'll want the close range infantry to be followed by longer range otherwise the long range will stop to shoot leaving the following squad out of range. I also enjoy when I have a tank or something I'll highlight a recon vehicle or unit and hit Q and right click on the tank so that you only have to move the tank around, the recon unit will follow. You can string along and make really cool convoys and such that way. Still not sure if its all that effective but it means less micro when moving your units. The issue being that they're not spread out if theres a bombing strike.

there is an option. it is called auto cover, as well as below the smart orders tab there is a gear icon that allows you to apply specific rules to certain units IE; how they hunt, do you want them to go the shortest or safest way and there are a few other options there along with the auto cover feature. hope this helps

@theodorechill 2 года назад
@@opie_candoit78 Thanks, I'm familiar! I think you can have them stand beside buildings in the yard instead of entering the building by dragging the right click the same way you position tanks. I'm not entirely sure if that works but I think an alternative move button would just be easier.

It would be nice to be able to choose. I’m so afraid to turn off auto cover haha

Very informative! Thank you! So as a new player watching this, I am wondering how you make a unit throw a grenade or molatov cocktail at an enemy? Does this happen automatically when an enemy unit, say tank or infantry enters the contact range of your unit or do you have to do this action manually. If so, then how? As always thanks for taking the time to reply! Cheers! :)
@atkpwrgaming
@atkpwrgaming 4 месяца назад
Whenever you get into 100m range they should automatically attempt to throw it, which does take some time to aim up during which time they have to stay in range

Can recon units (such as armoured cars) surrender pinned infantry? I know if the pinned infantry is not within your frontline they wont, but what if they are in your frontline?
@atkpwrgaming
@atkpwrgaming 2 года назад
I do not believe they do
@superhans85
@superhans85 2 года назад
@@atkpwrgaming I thought I would test it. So it appears recon units can surrender pinned infantry. As long as they then fall within your sphere of front line, a recon unit can drive up to it and surrender them..
