Of course this background is much better attractive than blank one, but this filled background takes attention from you, atleast a small percentage. Also standing draws more attention to you than seated.. when you stand you are moving your hands more freely than when you are seated. Feels like the chair is restricting your movements. The way he moved his hands is one of the bigger things that gave rajinikanth his screen presence. Feels like this is true in your case also..
