Probably old hat by now but you can regularly get contraband on Neon at the security office, and then in the Syndicate hideout. Also Vultures Roost has a ton. Between the two I usually get about 50 contraband items each run. this includes some Aurora as well. I have stockpiled hundreds of contraband items. Too many to sell.
You saved me. I finished a mission of some abducted guy rescue, but he was no good man, stole his contraband and then the police was after me wherever I tried to land 🤧
You don't need to stay away from planets. Scanning only stop you from landing at the spaceport, not the planet. So you jump to a planet with a trader, hit M to bring up the map view and pause the scan, land next to the town, this is instant to the scan is skipped and you can walk over to the town and sell.
I was just trying to keep people from jumping to a city that scans and avoid issues like bounty’s or jail for the contraband. When I jump to planets they force a scan then if you refuse dialogue they attack with all the ships in orbit. But never tried this.
3:45 You end up next to the place where they store contraband and stolen items but it's rarely guarded and even when it is you can just sneak behind them and steal everything which will often cause you to end up with more than what you lost. I haven't checked if the items in these boxes respawn but given I'm always leaving with more I'm going to guess it's either the 48h UT or 168h UT reset timers. The police station on New Atlantis has both a back room containing contraband/stolen items and an unguarded chest out in the open around the corner where none of the police there can see it.
Thank ur this vid, I had just found a ton of contraband, stolen a nice ship, and had no clue where to go. Couldn't make the jump 2 Wolf from where I was, so had 2 find an in-between jump. But made it, registered the ship and took all the TA's credits...twice👌
ugh forget walking to ships and trying to get to them before they take off and all that and sometimes it's not even an enemy ship but an friendly one. just grab missions to kill pirates from mission boards, take out their engine with targeting, board, kill, loot, and they almost always have at least 2 contraband, bigger ships way more. My only problem is I want to take over pirate ships and sell them but i hate having to hunt down trying to find every contraband to jettison so I don't get in trouble. so I am here for the part of video on how to sell them in case it's something I can do easily. Or I wish after I captured a ship there was a way to put all items in ship in cargo so i can quickly find the contraband other then going to a shipyard and getting scanned and caught. EDIT: Yea I don't think this is worth my time or interests me, goling to wolf to sell a few contraband items that would only net me a few k each and even if I had more have to do waiting game for NPC to reset. I'd love to know how to quickly get rid of contraband though in ships I capture instead of manually looking all over the ship for them. I still want to capture ships to see if I want them or sell them. I learned in another video registering your ship from ship menu is much cheaper then registering at a ship engineer
are these the missions from the free star board? i’ve seen someone mention this before and i thought they meant missions from the crimson fleet board but you get barely any contraband from those missions
No normal boards. like the one in atlantis on the left on the wall where they scan you. There is usually at least one mission to attack a pirate ship. but usually to keep myself from running out I do also grab freestar ones, so i have like 3 of them,, once I am done they usually reset and I can crab another 3. Much faster in my opinion if your looking for pirate ships to steal then running slowly on planets. @@looperlmao
Items with the red icon are stolen They don't get scanned when you enter planets, but if you get boarded because of contraband, stolen goods get confiscated too You can sell stolen goods to the Trade Authority and use "Buy Back" to get them back at the same price and have them be not stolen anymore
@@MichaelBricardo oh no. That’s not good. My wife had an issue with the main quest line where she couldn’t dock somewhere took her a little while to get it to actually work. Here’s to hoping they fix it soon.
The Den, the entire station, has glitched into my shipyard inventory as a door that I cannot load as an active ship. Since this happened, the space station is no longer in space.
You may have a bounty or be hostile with them. You could always head to the red mile and sell there too. I usually just run in, talk to the vendor really fast and then run out because of bounty’s 😂
