Remember Magic Erasers are made from melamine foam, which acts like a very fine sandpaper... I wouldn't use sandpaper on tinted windows.

I use magic erasers for windows too . I do construction cleanup and the windows are the hardest part . When I have a streaky window, a perfectly dry magic eraser gets mild streaks off . Gonna try your exact method. I use those same towels too . Just a different way . Can’t wait to try your way . Thank you 😊

Magic eraser works great on interior glass to get rid of that film that comes from heat & air vents. I use a window squeegee whenever possible.

I like what you do and how you do it. A pity I can't get my car windows streak free. In my country where everything is muddy and stuffy and rainy and plenty of sunshine. I try to keep my car good looking as possible... but in a muddy street with huge craters of muddy water everything gets impossible to clean properly. Nothing here is concrete as in Europe or America.

I saw a video where they usef a small sqeegee to get down close to the dadh also used warm water mixed with a small amount of Dawn to clean .

I use a bathroom squeegee, its skinny blades fits right down where your hand can't. Drape the wet cloth over the blade, turn or invert the squeegee so the blade meets the glass, dry off with dry cloth. They don't cost much and last as long as you care for.

The secrete to getting streak free glass is getting ALL the dirt off the glass. If you get the glass clean , then there's nothing there to streak. (Professional detailer from back in the early 70's) We washed the windows when washing the car to get most of the dirt off. Then they were a snap to clean with plain water. (wet rag, then towel dry and polish with wadded up newspaper)

Great tips! One issue I have been running into is when I put my window up I'll have marks from it being inside of the door frame. Anyway to prevent this? Should I let them dry for 10 mins or something before rolling them back up?

"0000" steel wool is also good for bugs. Won't scratch. Takes those persistent bug smashes out every time.

The car designers were ordered to 'rake' the A Pilliar to reduce air resistance on the car. It created a problem for us in getting the inside of the window clean.I think the C8 Corvette and the Prius are the worst.

These towels last forever. I looked it up and I’ve had them since 2015 and use them every day. I could probably splurge for some new ones, but they still work great. I wash them by themselves so they never get grease or wax on them. Wash in hot with a little detergent and a little bleach. No fabric softener. Then tumble dry on medium

When washing and drying your glass towels, do not use fabric softener. Liquid or dryer sheets will change the surface of the towels. The fibers absorb the “softener” properties (which is a wax) and the cloths never really work the same again. Also don’t launder them with cotton because the cloths will pick up lint.

I use a small container with hot water and let the sponge submerge inside the water for 2 minutes because you need to activate the sponge. I seen videos that it doesn't work as good with temperature water or cold water. The only way to activate the magic eraser sponge is with hot water. I see a big difference when I clean my window. I do however have some of those windshield edges microfiber cleaning tools so I can get in the all the edges where my hand can't fit

I am willing to try any technique to get the windows right. 10 years and I have yet to master it. The window always look great until I drive into the Sun. I spend a lot of time just facing the Sun to figure out where the streaks are and trying to get them out. Big hassle. I never tried soaking the first towel though. I will try that now

The streak are caused by leftover residue and film being spread around. The concept with streak free glass is that it is clean and free of any grime and oils. The video author did exactly that with his wet towel. Also, the towels he's using, I recommend them too. Makes life just that much easier.

Magic Eraser is very finely abrasive. We found out after my wife was using them on our plastic bathtub. Luckily, I was able to buff the tub's shine back with a lambs wool pad and Finess-it. Hopefully the magic eraser won't scratch glass.

Yes, if it has a window tint you don't want to use ammonia, otherwise ammonia is the best way to clean glass. 0000 steal wool still works the best for bug guts.

I have found that the steel wool can shed fibers and find their way into the surrounding rubber and then rust so I have stopped using it. I am also not sure if the magic eraser on the interior could damage the tint so I don't press hard on interior. It is abrasive after all.

Save your money and time. In a spray bottle put 8 parts distilled water, one part white vinegar, one part alcohol and two drop of dish soap. Use a cotton tee shirt to wipe. Aim you vehicle into the bright sun to reveal any missed spots.

Yes. I typically throw glass towels in the wash separate from other towels. Medium heat with your favorite detergent. NO fabric softener (it will clog up the towels and prevent drying capability) Dry on low heat

To save time why can't you miss the 1st stage wiping with a wet glass microfibre cloth and just go straight in with a wet magic sponge (apart from the inside of the windscreen)? Then dry with the dry microfibre glass cloth.

The difference is how you get off the oils and grime. Water will not dissolve oils but glass cleaners have detergents or solvents. They dissolve the film on you of the glass which makes it easier to lift up and get streak free glass. If you use water, you have to compensate for the "dissolve" effect by wiping harder or wiping a lot more. There's a reason why even million dollar shops use professional grade glass cleaners, it saves time and time is money. I recommend you buy 99% Isopropyl alcohol and make your own glass cleaner simply by adding distilled water. It works awesome.

BAD ADVICE! "Magic Eraser" type products should NEVER be mixed with anything but water. Ever read a package? Risk of chemical interaction/toxicity.

If that’s the case, then any sponge should only be used with water. That language is put there so you don’t use it with bleach one day, then ammonia the next day, causing a chemical reaction. You’ll be ok safety sally
