How To get Texas LTC ***2021 Update *** 

What does the envelope look like that they send it in? Does it say LTC on the front? Also are there individuals envelopes for the initial payment, fingerprint, and the class and LTC? Asking since I’m not home and don’t want people going thru my mail

Not at all. One could reasonably argue that you should know about your past and not even apply if you have something on your BGC that would be reason for denial. Also, the LTC test results and fingerprint submissions are still valid, and there is an appeals process...provided you do so within 30 days of the denial.

I paid $43 for the application $10 for fingerprints $40 for the class (got a discount). From start to finish it took 21 days.

Thats what im wondering, i only submitted my LTC100 course completion certificate. I have a fingerprint appointment tomorrow. I figured i only had to submit the LTC100, hopefully this doesn’t slow the process.🙏💯

It's a license to carry handgun open or concealed now. Was a concealed carry only license. We are getting Constitutional carry in September. Some differences where you can carry with or without license.

if you are active you don't have o take the shooting test just the rules and ethics section.

You should also receive a slight discount when you renew.

Military personnel can carry at 18 instead of 21.

Sounds like someone didn't want to claim responsibility for a negligence discharge now there's a whole police department that thanks guns just go off on there own

The steps are there for a reason. Also, Texas has Constitutional Carry so it’s not necessary to get the LTC, but you won’t get the benefits of having the LTC and what it brings. As far as the country goes, this is the only country where the common man can get a firearm with very little restrictions depending on the state you live in. If you live in a Commie state, I suggest you move out, and not just for the reason of firearms. In other countries, good luck trying to get a firearm if your not one of the special fancy people that can “justify” the need for one. We have it pretty good and anyone with a brain can do this.
