Make sure you read every single journal!!! Me and my friends did this yesterday and after like 2 hours of sailing back and forth and completing it 3 times we realized we missed 1 of the 5 journals and so we had to go get the key and sail all the way back
I just did it from start to finish using this video, it took me about 2 and a half hours using a sloop on my own. It would probably go a bit faster in a brig with 2-3 people. Great video!
me and my friends were trying to solve this for 2 days, we tried to get back to the cave after we passed 1st door. We didnt knew we should restrat the quest so we go in, enter the 1st door and repeat for 2 days and it was frustrating. Thank you so much. The good thing is we hunted 3 megalodons and beat a kraken, even repetitive quest can be so much fun with your friends in sea of thieves. At the end, this really helped and i appreciate your work.

This took me and my mate 6 hours after doing it path 1 without guide and not knowing you needed chest of rage then did all 3 paths but missed journals in path 2 and 3 so had to do them again
Yep, so essentially you need to complete all the commendations for this tall tail. The main ones being read all of the journals and complete the tall tale 3 times. Since there is a journal down each path and there are 3 paths, doing so will complete all the commendations. I hope that makes sense.
Thanks for the well put guide, got the ashen skin unlocked and I'll prob still use the Sunken Sorrow curse for my main outfit but the Ashen goes well with the Jack O' Looter Costume.

@Foxy Fang Yes, I believe so. As long as both of you complete all of the commendations for the heart of fire tall tale, you should both receive the curse. Be sure that you both read all of the journals. You can each look at your progress by going to your pirate log->reputation->tall tales->2nd page->heart of fire. I hope this helps! @@hadirazii Yo! I'm a little confused. The first path only has 1 journal. Theres a journal in the room where all the paths begin as well. If you missed the journal in the first path and already handed Pendragon the tall tale, then you can do the following on your second run: Go through the first path again, read the journal, then right after you see that dude messing with the chest, you should see a mermaid statue just before the next door. Use that to go back to your ship. Then you can go back to the lair entrance and use the mermaid statue to go back to the room where all the paths begin.
@Invictus, Yes you can, but you both need to read all of the journals and do all of the commendations. You can each check your progress on the commendations in the Pirate Log->Reputation->Tall Tales->2nd Page->Heart of Fire. Hope this helps!
I did all three and I did not get the curse? I left the game after I completed a path and gave in the chest and got all the books. does it not save if you leave after handing in the chest?
Hmm it should have saved if you handed Pendragon the chest. Did you look in your vanity chest for the curse? If it's not there, then you're still missing a commendation. To find out which one, check your Pirate Log->Reputation->tall tales->2nd page-> heart of fire.
Since you need to complete all of the commendations in order to get the curse, you’ll need to read all of the journals, go down every path and complete the tall tale 3 times. You can look at the commendations by going to your Pirate Log->Reputation->Tall Tales->2nd page-> heart of fire. I hope that helps!
If I do the tall tail the first time and then leave that server will it save my progress on that tall tail and I will be able to continue to complete the second and third door. Right?
If you have done all commendations and the quest 3 times but you still haven't recieved the "Saver of Souls" commendation for completing it 3 times just reload, crazy what a simple refresh can do haha.
