Excuse the quality, It was dark. The kitchens dark etc etc . But sure look if someone else gets value out of the experience so be it. Plenty of other stuff to waste ones times on ...
Yip works a treat I usually pin 2 at a time & put one back in the fridge, so you always have one ready instead of waiting for pressure release every time,
Great idea! I might try this with Kilkenny Irish Red Ale as their cans have the same Nitro widget activation mechanic. Always found the general widget cans to be really fidgety and to be not of a very good consistency. Some very good tips for cleaning the pint glass. Thanks for the video - Sláinte!
If you poor a tin of coke into a dirty pint glass it goes flat very quickly it is a good example of how important it is to have a clean glass. Like your video by the way 😍
Very nice looking pint👍I can get just as good a pint with regular Guinness cans and nitro surge device too but I just make sure I have the cans in the fridge for 24 hours minimum, pint glass chilled in the fridge for 15 to 20 mins and same result,I don't use the pin and dont need nozzle of nitro surge device touching the glass.
Wow I’m blown away only bought these cans draft cans as I couldn’t find surge cans anywhere then googled nitro surge on draft cans and this video popped up just had one of the best home pints I’ve ever tasted works a treat the five lamps I salute 🫡 you sir well done
The quailty of the cans is making a huge difference. I bought three slabs of the big cans at christmas first was amazing second was very very hit and miss third so far is bit better. All done same method not to cold or to warm either. Guinness via can is very tempermental in general.
I found tesco changed their cans. I'm thinking some of the slabs are different factory I had one slab which was great and one not good. Checked the can top and they had completely different pull rings and design on top. Might have been for UK Market theres some pasteurisation that may be done for different markets.
@@thefivelamps1961 it’s 100% the pasteurisation which for many markets is legally required. It would be interesting to see your technique poured next to another can poured from can without surger to see immediate difference!
I heard the nitrosurge cans will not be available in the US. I bought a nitrosurger and a believer in the nitrosurge with regular Guinness cans. The pin prick works perfect. Just take time but well worth it. The frothy head is a little over 1 inch thick and if done correctly no bubbles on the head. I shit you not gentlemen.
Cheers my man, was just batin a dart in and wondering what I was doing wrong 😂 mini explosion and wondering why it came through the surger as if it was the widget
Dart . Love it ! Needs must I suppose. The bigger the pin the more chance of bursting the seal on the widget. Try your best to get tailors pins. The missus had loads in a little box.
Now I have to buy a nitrosurge and some mothers milk just to give one to a friend and watch as he opens it and say, what the hell are you doing ????? As I open mine like you did, hahahaha
Does it taste same as surger cans or any difference? They're some chancers if they just changed the graphics of the cans but no actual surger tech in them. Charging double price for the same thing.
I've done both. Find your middle..sometimes I do sometimes I don't. Yet to see of it really has an impact. I do think though it strengthens the final head.
Where'd you get the 538ml cans here in Ireland? Im in wicklow and can only find 500ml. Pin trick works fine for the nitrosurge device, but always a few MM short from top of regular pint glass!
That's not a full size pint glass,I tried it with a Guinness glass and it didn't fill the glass so there was no dome.Still a nice pint using this technique 👍
@@joypad0136 you likely had the more common 440ml cans, guy in video used 538ml cans which fill the pint glass perfectly. Another option is to get a 440ml guinness glass 👍
U only get the dome with the 558ml guiness draught cans which u have to import from Ireland or the nitrosurge cans which are also 558ml. But both going to be expensive. Still a decent pint with the 538mls though
Makes a decent looking pint. However it doesn’t taste anywhere near as nice as the nitro surger cans. Serious difference in taste ! Also you should press the button for the second pour too or it doesn’t surge the last of the can.
Why do the instructions tell you not to press the nozzle against the glass? I know you advise otherwise and give a reason for it, but the instructions state not to 🤔
Gimmick tongue of urs….. Only messin, but the taste is supposed to stay the same, the difference is the creaminess of the pint. Pint is way creamier with the device no question. And far more consistent with pours.
@Kyle Byrne Fair enough.Personally I think it’s a marketing gimmick the double pour. Sure your fella the Guinness Guru could hardly tell the difference between any of the variations doing a blind taste test.
@Kyle Byrne yeah I mean in the pub too. That is true. I’m happy enough with the regular cans too . Can’t see me buying any nitrosurge cans . Will give the pin trick another few goes and compare again
