How to get through the Lost Woods (and save Korok Forest) in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom 

you need to enter a nearby chasm and make your way to the corresping light then ascend through it into the forest

@@Doran754 you can’t ascend through a lightroot, can you?

I misread your original comment. Go into the deku tree and clear the gloom, you can then get to one of the shrines. The other is a quest that you need to drop into from the sky island above

@@Doran754 it’s all good. However, I do know that there are two shrines in the Lost Woods area. One of them you can drop into from the sky island because there’s a little area where there isn’t cloud cover and you can see the shrine. But how do you get to the other shrine? You can’t enter it from below, above or ground level. At least not to my tiring ideas. I’ve tried everything.

@@liquidswords2636 you can enter it at ground level. You need to buy the crystal for golden apples from a korok near the tree.

I wouldn't worry about it, play it the way you want to have fun

@@triforcetimes It took me a couple of tries but no, you can get from the start to the great deku tree just following the breeze.

Another cool tactic is to take out a steering stick. When you stand on it the gloom hand can't get you and then you can jump off to go into bullettime for multiple headshots :)

when I did it they didn't spawn immediately, i had to run around for a bit and then they appeared

I flew in from Eldin Skyview Tower, and had a quick check of the map before I went there, if you have opened up the tower then you should be able to see it

This is happening to me too, did not touch the gloom at all, just said air was too hot

You need the right gear heat proof

Same I have followed the tutorial all that's down there is lava and the back of the Gordon temple there's just walls next to the rive by korok forest

You will need fire proof gear and fire proof elixirs. Use and cook up 5 fire proof lizards 🦎. This elixir gives you the most time in the hot lava area.

Hard? Have you tried Majoras Mask or A Link to the Past?

Yeah the monsters are way harder than BOTW it's making it incredibly unfun for me :\ Like there was a little bit of a learning curve in BOTW but I didn't have to grind hearts and armor upgrades in order to just be able to explore.

@@slicedfruitgirl I agree that the battle has become more of a challenge with loads more enemies along the way but don't you remember how much easier things got in breath of the Wild once you got nice armor all upgraded with strong weapons...same goes for Tears of the Kingdom. Ive hardly done any major fighting in my like first 50 hrs of play. Avoiding enemies and sneaking around may take a bit more work traveling but is still pretty easy. On my way I found loads of ways to become stronger, get the fairies and some cool outfits with better defense and now I'm killing mini bosses left and right to get even more stronger. Invest time in finding shrines and go deep to up your batteries. Most important...Don't think like you did in Breath of the wild, this game is different and that's what you have to take advantage off. Don't storm in with all your old skills but get some new ones. Ive been auto-building simple box structures as mini forts to fight out of. Three sides and and a roof is all you need. Using them for shelter and being able to ascend through the sealing so you can jump into bullet time. Attaching zonai weapons to help...it opens up a whole new world of creative combat and should help to get your fun back.
