Requirments: Pikachu/Raichu(either Female or Male), Ditto or Pikahu/Raichu(opposite gender of the other Pikachu/Raichu) and, Pokemon Emerald(only)
Directions: Give Light Ball to Pikachu/Raichu and put ditto and Pikachu/Raichu in the Day Care and walk away and do whatever then, when the guys out he'll give you a egg(which contains pichu + volt tackle) walk to Hatch it and Voula pichu has Volt Tackle

A quicker way to find Pikachu in the Safari Zone is to have an Electrike or Manectric with the ability Static in the front of your Pokemon party. Static makes Electric-type Pokemon appear 30% more than usual.

Here's a little hint to get a Pikachu, since they are rare, to appear more often in the safari zone, you just have to catch a more common pokemon like mareep (after you get the other part of the safari zone unlocked) and since mareep has the ability static it'll attract pokemon of the electric type. So just put your static ability pokemon in the front of you party and you will have Pikachu's coming to you like mice to cheese. Hope this helps for those trying to find a Pikachu.

All you need is a pikachu and a nincada in your team. then catch 2 or 3 pikachus in the safari. pikachu have the ability static so finding another pikachu is more common and nincada have the ability dont-remember-the-name-XD wich increase the chances to find a pikachu with light ball in hold. and this is for real! BTW this attack isnt that great the recoil DMG is way to high

It's a bit easier in Diamond and Pearl to get a Light Ball. I managed it in less than an hour by leveling up a Butterfree with the Ability that increases the opportunities of the Poke you catch holding an item. Caught about 4 or 5 different Pikachu from the Trophy Garden, and BOOM, had a Light Ball.

That is what the action replay is for use it's ability changer and give your pikachu the rock head ability no recoil damage and you can use volt tackle as many times as you want with out consequence

Catching Pikachu with lightball: Have a pokemon with compoundeyes in front of your party as it increases chances of a pikachu with held item. let it faint. then have a pokemon with static(i heard boy pikachu works best) behind the pokemon with compound eyes. static helps find more electric type pokemon. it works real good. got it on my first try in Heart Gold.

For those asking: To get a light Ball, you must catch a Pikachu that has one attached to it in the Safari Zone. There's a %5 chance of catching a Pikachu holding a light ball. To make catching Pikachu easier, first catch one that has Static as it's trait. Put that Pikachu in the first slot of your party. Static increases the rate of Pikachu encounters in the Safari Zone. Be Patient and eventually you'll find a Pikachu with a Light Ball.

don't pay attention to neoneo23, you can find the light ball by catching a pikachu at the safari zone a pikachu carrying the light ball is very hard to see tho just keep catching them until you find it ^^

umbreon he obviosly traded as an eevee fron FR/LG and traded a ponyta or rapidash from FR/LG and same with wooper. U can get mareep in the safari zone after beating the E4 and Smeargle u can catch in the Battle Frontier.

OK to get ditto follow instructions.(must finish pokemon league) 1.Talk to that guy digging a hole in fallarbor town. 2.Go to route 111 with mach bike and rocksmash. then go to this tower thats standing there. The tower is just a small sky pillar. Go to end of tower get fossil then go back to the digging dude. talk to him and go through to the Cave. go find ditto and if u want get the other fossil get it at the end of cave and then go devon corp and talk to scientists on second floor. GL!

in emerald go to the ruin manics place(west of flabborbor) and look for a cave. go in and search round. you will find a ditto. for ruby/sappire, trade.

@SimonSheen Yeah... Anyway, I think it means that the game can't function anymore beacause the battery inside of it hasn't got enough power... I don't know if they do repairs in GAME or GameStation... I'll have to check... If you're American, I'd try whatever game shop you use...

you have to keep catching pikachu and they have a VERY rare chance of having it, thats the only way unless u have a gameshark

I got pichus with voltackle and leveled it to level 23 and it evolved u have to have it hold the sooth bell and not let it faint too many times cause pokemon dont like you when that happens

you gotta give it some kind of incense or special item to make it produce those kinds of eggs. Try looking up a website called "Psypokes" and click the breeding category in [insert desired game here]. Hope this helps ^^

It can be done without Gameshark. Just use Thief on wild Pikachus (name looks strange), and one of the them will hold Light Ball.

people! you don't have to cheat to get all 3 starters. just trade with someone who has the other starters or if you can just trade with yourself. that's how I got all 3 hoenn and all 3 kanto starters in emerald. Im working on getting all 3 johto starters but I have to complete the national deck first.

Thomas Kukler no it isn't. if you're referring to event legendaries, you don't need them to complete the national pokedex. but if you want to have the satisfaction of completing it 100% then yes unfortunately you have to cheat.

@humanoidrob well and you can also bring a bug pokemon with a special ability (compound eyes from ex: nincada) and magnet pull from magnemite can make the look for the items is easy.

Fun fact to those who don't know this. If you use thunder while another pokemon uses fly, you hit them, and do about 1.5x more damage to them than you would've if they were on land. =D

There is one other way to get a light ball,but it recuaers a lot of pokemon games.So.... 1st:Trade Ash's pikachu from Yellow ver. to Gold ver.(or any other pokemon game from that time) 2nd:Do the same for each ver. up(u might have notised that picachu is alredy holding the light ball in Gold ver.,but there is no use for it there) 3rd:Trade the yellow ver. pikachu to Emrald ver. and WHALLA You now have a pikach with a light ball.

You get Light ball in the Safari Zone. You have to catch a Pikachu. It is really hard to get a Pikachu that holds it.

It took me 5 pikachus to catch until I got the light ball xD. When I started hatching the egg that came soon afterwards, I got another egg after the first one hatched, so I have 2 pichus with Volt Tackle. Pretty cool xD

after you have the nat. dex go to fallorbor town,go to the fossil maniac's house.u will notice a cave behind him.go in there.u will find whismer,loudred,and ditto.oh and dark mew x,smeargle,aipom,and kelcon don't evolve.

OR if you've beaten Pokemon Battle Revolution in Gen IV the "Secret Gift" (Which is free.) gets you a Pikachu w/ the Light Ball (along with Volt Tackle and Surf.)

That Annoying Dude is off a bit. You can only evolve Pichu through high happiness, but you can use a Thunderstone to evolve Pikachu into Raichu

one time i got a pichu evolved it and at around the 30s it learned volt tackle. u dont have to do that, just have some luck

To get a Light Ball you have to go to the Safari Zone in Emerald and and catch a boy Pikachu i put one pikachu in the first slot cuz that cause pickachu's to show up more as i walked around and its rare to get the light ball but thats how i did it

Your annotation at the beginning is slightly incorrect. Even though there's a 5% chance Pikachu will be holding the Light Ball, catching 20 does not guarantee that the 20th one will be holding it. Each Pikachu you battle has a 5% chance of holding it, and no battles you've fought before or after affect that chance to 10% if it's your second, or 50% if it's your 10th. It will always be 5%.

wouldn't it be easier to use exp share to level up pichu n go to the elite four? that's how i completed most of my pokedex. just get enough to pass the elite four with a pokemon or 2 n level up n evolve

I've been trying to catch a pikachu with a light ball for over 24 hours now in fire red, 47 pikachu's and over 100 ultra balls later. nothing....absolutly nothing, just a box and a half full of pikachu's...
