How To Get WordPress Posts To Page - Displaying Posts On A Page | WP Learning Lab
This is one of those things that all beginners want to be able to do and it seems like it should be easy. Luckily, it actually is easy to do if you know how to do it :)
There are two ways to make this happen. One is to set the blog page and the other is to add categories to the navigation menus which displays all the posts in the category.
Let's do the first one first, setting the blog page to display posts on a specific page. First, you have to make sure that you create a page called Blog by going to Page then Add New.
Type Blog into the title field and click on Publish.
Now go to Settings then Reading Settings in the WordPress Admin area. At the top you will see a "Front page displays" section where you choose the "static page" option. Then for the Post Page drop down choose the Blog page you just created.
You will also have to choose a Front Page to make this work.
Then click Save Changes at the bottom of the page.
Now your posts will appear on the "Blog" page you created a few earlier.
Another easy option is to display posts on a category page. On all of the posts you create you have the option of setting a Category for the post.
You can then go to Appearance, then Menus and add that specific category to any navigation menu you have on your site.
When someone clicks on the category link in the nav they will be taken to that category page where it displays all the posts in that category.

Thanks for the tutorials, really helpful. But I have a concern like putting "news" and "warm countries" but they will only appear on the menu page when you click the blog. They shouldn't be visible when I am on the homepage example....

Why are my posts not visible in the category that I check? They are visible only in BLOG category.

Hi Hysni, It could be a number of things. First, double check the categories are applied correctly to each post. Then open a category page to see if that helped. If that doesn't fix it, check to make sure that you don't have a caching plugin installed that's preventing you from seeing the changes. If you do, clear the cache and check the category pages again. It could also be a plugin conflict, but that's pretty unlikely. Without taking a closer look, those are the things I can think of. I hope that helps, let me know if you have any further questions. I’ve had it on my video list to find a way to easily customize the category page. I’m not sure if Elementor has the ability to make category templates. If it does, you would have to recreate your blog page design template as a category page template. If nothing else works, there’s the old school way. Nearly very theme has a category.php file somewhere it it’s theme files. Category.php can be customized to your heart’s content as long as you know HTML, CSS, JavaScript and PHP. In short, we need to create a new page (call it blog, newsletter, journal, ... whatever). Use this page under the Posts Page area @ 1:23

Hi Sam, yes. You can have your posts appear in as many places as you want. You'll have to use a widget to get your posts onto your homepage. Sometimes those widgets are built into the theme. If not, you can use a plugin to get a widget. I hope that helps and thanks for watching!

+Rahul Pamnani Hi Rahul, I have a solution for you. I'm currently building it in Infusionsoft and Membrium for my own membership site. It's not easy and those two pieces of software are quite expensive. I doubt there's a free way to do what you want with writing a custom plugin for Woocommerce

Hi Travious, If you're using the self hosted version of WordPress you should have it. Are you using WordPress.com by chance? That one is not self hosted and they may require you to upgrade your account to get the reading options.

Hi Ella, there's definitely something wrong there. I would first make sure all your plugins, themes and WordPress files are up-to-date. If that doesn't help and if your site is brand new, you could try deleting it and reinstalling it. Hi Elisa. All my videos right now use a self-hosted version of WordPress from WordPress.org. It's open source and free, but you do have to buy a domain name and a hosting account to make it work. So it's not free, but you're not charged by WordPress itself to build your site or add features. It sounds like you may be using WordPress.com. If the options I'm showing aren't in your site then you probably have to pay WordPress.com for access to them. All the options come included in WordPress.org.

I can customize page while I am showing post for different grid, but I am not able to customize category for post for grid or so. Now l same create Category and Page, let's say "WordPress Tutorial". I'm just now learning to use WP coming over from Joomla. In Joomla they make it easy to add images for your categories and even have an index of categories with images displayed for each. I'm trying to do the same on WP. Is it an easy way to do this without changing code? They used to have plugins for this but they are all expired or cost.

How can I have a drop-down menu option in Category. (If I hover over a category, it will show a drop down menu of some of the posts that I wanted to show) How it can be done?
