DUDE you are the first person (including Nintendo and Niantic) to actually explain what Routes is and how it works. It’s been a very vague and non informative launch day so far, so I really appreciate this video!
If you're creating routes please be aware of the locations you're passing by. Do NOT include routes that in some shape of form can lead to your house / family / close friends. Be safe and chose public spaces 😊
4:50 the problem with rual players isn't pokemon spawns. It's access to items. Being limited to gifts, research, dailies, and the freebies in the shop is terrible.
No one forced you to live in the middle of nowhere AND play a social phone game. Not sure what you expect. This is a game for people in more populated suburbs and cities. Imagine if I played a mobile game about fishing that required me to be near bodies of water and I complained because I lived in the desert.
Routes sound more beneficial to those who can afford to go out and play every single day consistently. Majority of players will likely have work or life outside the game that may hinder them from attempting routes multiple days in a row up to a streak. Also may be inaccessible to those who still have a reason they cannot play outside or play consistently, due to physical/mental disabilities, rural areas, or extreme weather. I'm more someone who sits in the "middle class" of players, whom I say have work or life outside the game and may not be able to play the game to the full extent multiple days in a row in a streak consistently. If I ever get to attempt a Route streak, it's going to be very rare.
Bro noc abt your mental health physical health that’s ur problem if u can’t go outside for an hr 😂😂🤦🏽♂️so many excuses taht I didn’t even bother reading it all
This event should have been announced further in advance. We have no local routes in our community. Just submitted one today, hoping it's added in time. I'm also awaiting pokestop approvals for some routes i wish to add... but regardless, this is a good feature and im glad it's here.
@@BlastoiseBallerSomeone’s route got approved in my area and it goes into a grocery store, I couldn’t even track where it was going at one point and the route paused cuz I wasn’t near it. I turned the game off right there, you couldn’t make a worse route if you tried
I checked today and I've had a pokestop in queue for NINE MONTHS. And i know its not getting added because something else was put i the same spot already (even though whatever it is is not actually there)
In a small city of around 90,000 people we only found two routes in the University area which were both about 2400 m taking about 45 minute walk. We did one of them and did not find any Zygarde cells. I created five routes the past two days but much shorter hopefully they’ll be approved so we can continue all the research. Creating a Route is a little tricky because when you choose a pokestop or gym for the start point, you have to be very close to it or it will not start recording the blue line that shows the route. I had to go back and get it to start several times doing this. Good luck with this people .
The main issue with routes at the moment are GPS related, you will notice the path the route makes will suddenly jolt in-front of your character at times, causing it to ‘fix’ itself but it may incorrectly go off path, e.g. (on to the middle of the road, through a house, somewhere inaccessible). The same issue happens when you turn around some corners, it will continue a straight line, realise the mistake it’s made and then do the same thing (above). Be aware that this could be more frequent with bad phone service.
@@Jinawan97 Hey mate, there’s not much I can find about that, I am going to assume it’s like pokéstop nominating and you will have to be at least level 37 for that :/
@@Jinawan97 hmmm, a bit weird if you are lvl 43, I was one of the lucky few trainers to get early access to this feature so that’s definitely why I can do it. maybe try applying for Niantic wayfarer if you haven’t. That might work?
My daily incense disappeared yesterday and then today it never reappeared. And I closed and opened the game to see if it would fix it multiple times. Nothing.
For the Routes feature I’m not sure if it will do this, but it would be cool if routes would show up in Campfire since that is out globally now. It would definitely encourage exploration if you don’t have any routes in your immediate area. I could see Complete form Zygarde replacing Garchomp in ML because it’s even more tanky; my Melmetal certainly doesn’t want to take it on. It will probably be really hard to get candy and XL candy for it though.
Campfire may be "available" worldwide but it's still unusable or has no support in many places. It doesn't work in Thailand. At least for me and many others.
Did anyone else notice that there was a wild gurdurr one of the pictures? That would be the first time the Conkeldurr trio have been available out of raid and eggs
I noticed this and thought damn the beta account has some insane spawns😂. I also noticed the next screenshots on the article had a player with a buddy tyranitar but the player didn’t have any starters or their evos based on the nearby
I love this new feature but I am afraid we won’t be able to have routes in our neighborhood. It usually takes more than 2 years to get a pokestop approval and I have submitted a route at the very beginning of the betatest and it is still under review. It’s a shame that the approval process is so slow 😢
Oh you didnt hear? Niantic rather than listen to its community has instad turned around and fired a ton of its employees to make up for the decreased revenue, so now they have even less staff keeping the game barely afloat.
@@Nyanka1123I get that you guys are acting safe but.. this will never happen in Pokémon go. Trust me. I’ve literally met new people because of Pokémon go.
This should have come out prior to increasing remote raid costs. Sadly, that doesn’t mean people will in-person raid again like before, but it does get people out walking again.
This routes thing could be really good. They could use routes to accurately measure distance for hatching eggs rather than having to walk in straight lines.
I actually just logged in to the game on 7/20 (a day before the event) and it gave me the research task. It was clearly glitched and didn’t come up with the correct title at first but after I reloaded the game the research is just there now 🤷🏻♀️ The first page is walk 1km, catch 10 Pokémon, use 5 berries to catch Pokémon. There are 6 pages in total. It’s very weird I hope this is a known bug and Niantic doesn’t think I hacked something just to get access a day early.
I got it a day early as well, around 11:30 AM PDT July 20. Apparently lots of people did, there's a thread on the Silph Road subreddit about it. (I didn't even have to pick it up in the shop like the announcement/news said, it was just there for me)
It’s a great feature, don’t get me wrong but the event is pretty pointless if there no routes available yet in your local area! Thanks again Niantic 👏🏼 your really out doing yourselves in these events that no one is able to participate in or having to have makeup days because your company stuffed up 😂. None-the-less, I can’t wait to fully experience this new feature when it’s available to my area ❤
Zygard us one of my favorite mons. So im super excited for it but as a rural player i think it would be difficult if route making isn't available for all players
I noticed that while creating a route - around a local park with plenty of stops - that my tracked position wandered a bit. On a few occasions it read me as in the middle of the road instead of on the pathway. wonder how that will affect the route when/if it makes it into the game.
Very fitting for Niantic to release a half done update again, Lock new legendary behind the routes, and not let people create said routes.... I'm not driving 2 hours to get a route... I hope they sell the game to another more caring company..
So basically it works almost the same as missions from Ingress. Cool! I actually never seen or even heard about Zygarde 100%. I've seen the 50% form, the Slug version and the 10% form, the dog version. But the 100% is new to me which is blowing my mind haha.
I get the route promotion thing, but there's no routes in my area. Also, as a wheelchair user I'm a bit worried that if the routes aren't wheelchair friendly I won't be able to fully complete the research.
I've had access to routes for about a month now, I've had no clue what it was never really messed around with it (didn't even know it was exclusive btw.) The city I'm in is fairly active and there is no routes nor the much bigger city near by doesn't show any either. I wish they sent out a thing explaining what it was to the testers, very poorly designed test and launch.
I tried the route at my local park yesterday, and just got back from another attempt. It starts and ends in the entry lane, using the entry sign and water tower gyms as start and stopping points. Except you really can't WALK to either point, safely. And if you drive in, expecting to start the route along the quasi-circular lane, you would be blocking traffic. That's **IF** you don't lose the signal! Yesterday, it kept losing the signal with every other step, while showing I was moving. Today, it crapped out right away, I got it back, walked about a hundred feet and lost it. I was NOT backtracking back up the hill! (and YES, you can WALK the route IN REVERSE! MUCH easier on my bad leg!) I had the signal back by the time I got to the southern point/gym, spent some time getting a Gravelor(?), hit my incense and eventually finished the route, after losing the game TWICE MORE. Not the route, but the GAME CRASHED. I don't know if it's my phone or environmental issues (there's a tower within sight of park, but ???) I lost out the last few minutes of incense AND the game told me to find the starting point of the route AGAIN! How about NO? It's going to be a few days before I can try again, not holding my breath for another route by work. I'm already over this route nonsense. Bright side? I did get my Zygarde! and some fresh air, I guess? I'm gonna go die now.
I live in a super small community and there are no routes, and I can't create a route, so this sucks if only a few are chosen to be able to actually create a route.
I see a lot of people complaining about there pokestop approvals.. you might know than if you try hard enought you can have your pokestop in 1 week or less by just reviewing other submission. it took me live 350/400 review by pokestop for having enought point to boost my submission. so in one lame afternoon you can have your pokestop. There is a way.
Yep, not doing this one until the weather cools down some in the fall. And even then ... it sounds like the Zygarde cells are too rare for this to be really worth doing. I have a feeling that a lot of folks are going to stop using the routes as soon as they get enough Zygarde cells, too (probably why they're so rare, Niantic knows that most folks won't use the feature otherwise).
I’ve submitted 5 routes so far but I think they want players to walk faster than I can. Kept getting like little U-turns in my creation route lines as the mine was going faster than me and when I followed a route already in game the same thing, if I didn’t walk fast enough it would pause. I can’t walk fast so I hope they change the spied expected in the routes.
They are terribly ableist IMO. The shortest route will be 500m. I'd like to see routes of different lengths suitable for everyone, but it just won't happen.
Just learned about Routes. Wish there would have been more info! Of course wouldn't matter as weather is not permitting any sort of walking. Heat huge problem! Still love pokemon!♡♡
There are plenty of stops and gyms in my town, thing is I don't think any active players have access to creating them, so there are no routes to follow here.
It's a bit lame in my humble opinion, I mean we can all look at a map and plan a route without other peoples suggested routes! Also if like me you are rural, you already know the best route for the limited stops and gyms. Fairly pointless for me.
@@natsterjamI agree this is pointless and not exciting at all I can look at the Pokémon go map and decide what’s the best route and all alternate ones. The only reason I’ll follow someone route is to get zygarde after that I’ll never touch this feature again
I was in the beta for routes and I submitted about a 15 and they are all just stuck in Limbo so I quit with the feature for now, Hoping the full release is good.
I have access to create routes so I tried to make a simple loop at a local park and it got denied...not sure what the problem was. It's like some of the stops I've tried submitting that are in easy to access areas on busy parkways that get denied for 'inappropriate location'. If anyone has any tips I'd love to hear them Also, Nick makes the best videos
I've had access to creating routes for quite awhile now, out of all my routes only one was rejected (zero explanation as to why) it was, however, the longest one and was rejected within 12 hours, I am now entering week 3 of "pending" approval for the other ones (of various lengths) And from all the trainers I've come across, I'm the only one who has this feature available. It would be nice to know what the approval or rejection criteria is.
I have managed to submit 5 routes locally to me. For some reason 2 have been declined and 3 accepted. No feedback and no real reason I can see why the 2 were declined!
Zygarde 100% form is going to be the number 1 mon in Master League. It's got a better stat product than Lugia and is a very, very bulky boi. It only picks up 9 losses against the meta, and the only stuff that beats it is taking advantage of its dragon typing. Basically fairy, ice and Dialga/Lugia.
@@erikastiesch4705 recently i am the only player plying in my whole area,so i could surely use some help from new players to build my old community again
Route creation is fairly buggy (shocker, I know). The path I went did not reflect the path the game said I went. For example, I made a sharp left turn. Instead, the game greatly exaggerated the turn, making it way wider than it really was
So I live in a decent city (on my country's scale) with a decent amount of pokestops and gyms etc. However, I've today driven around the whole city pretty much. There are no routes, anywhere, none.
This would be amazing if the game actually let me use the routes since it pauses the route immediately after I start and I have even scanned poke stops but the game says it cannot establish my location but lets me scan pokestops that should give the game a clue as to where I am if I'm taking damn pictures.
