The Broncos literally gave up 70 points in a single game, like that literally just happened. In week 3 of the NFL season the Miami Dolphins faced off against the Denver Broncos, and, it was an abject disaster. The Dolphins offense destroyed the Broncos defense at nearly every turn, and Sean Payton’s defense gave up a 70 burger, and their pride. HOW could an actual NFL defense give up 70 points in a single game? This week’s episode uses the coaches all 22 to analyze the Denver Broncos defense allowing 70 points to the Miami Dolphins.

Shoutout to Prize Picks for sponsoring this week’s episode, if you use my promo code ROLLINS they’ll match your deposit up to $100: prizepicks.onelink.me/ivHR/ALEXROLLINS Guys I literally don’t know how anybody could stop the Dolphins offense right now. The film from this game was equal parts Broncos horridness, but also Dolphins unbelievable ingenuity. That’s why I hopped on Tua more than 280.5 passing yards, and then.. on the flip side of offensive dominance, I took Justin Fields over 168.5 passing yards cause he’s cleared 200 two out of three times this year, and 168 is a insanely low number.

Connor Williams was mediocre in Dallas but him being the center in Miami is clearly playing to his strengths. His get off and ability to get to the second level as a center is really impressive. You need a certain level of strength to be an offensive lineman in the NFL sure, but you compare this team's blocking to another dominant run team like Philly and it's obvious that agility, positioning, and scheme can be just as effective as raw power and technique.

To be fair between Payton hiring Gregg Williams (early 2010s) and Dennis Allen (best recent Saints defensive guru they had) he also stuck with Rob Ryan for 3 years to run his defense. So yeah Payton def gets it wrong when hiring defense guys.

After I read that Sean Payton had accepted the head-coaching position in Denver I wrote he was taking a huge risk. Obviously his story isn’t necessarily finished there but he had a QB that was very highly paid and underperforming, lack of draft picks because of the trade to get that quarterback, and potentially a bad salary-cap position for awhile to boot. I think the Carolina job was open, and so was the Indy job, and there was a better chance of success with either of those franchises. If this doesn’t work out Payton’s legacy will be trashed. I think that Payton does have a big ego and maybe he figured he could turn around the Broncos faster than a rodeo expert. Well, we will see if he can stay on the Bull for more than eight seconds.

This is all an indictment of Vance Joseph as a DC. Always knew he wasn't up to snuff against better offenses and this is Exhibit A. He didn't have the LBs to play the Fins offense straight up AND they were also unprepared against the passes at the middle but also the run game. But shout outs to noticing the Tua shovel pass. Its kinda unique because he's a lefty in the pocket but he's naturally right handed so him being able to get a pass like adds that layer of confusion for the defense.

I’m a Panthers fan, so maybe I’m a bit biased, but Sean Payton has never struck me as an amazing HC. While the team has always drafted well (2017, for example) and had one of the greatest QBs of all time for 15 years, they only won one super bowl by purposely targeting and trying to injure players (Bountygate). I’m glad that the Dolphins exposed Sean Payton’s lack of flexibility and adjustments (which are necessary to be a good HC) to the NFL world on Sunday, especially after he was talking that much smack about Tua.

Its kind of funny Sean Payton left New Orleans because he didnt want to do another rebuild and hes doing a rebuild. Ill he curious what Denvers record is. That Wilson trade is looking rough

It’s in the contract that Wilson can’t be benched or traded until 2024 I think? Maybe ‘25? Whoever wrote that contract should be fired.

Watching this post 1am games on week 4. Just how bad is the broncos defense that Justin Fields looked like a competent QB for most of the game and then just how bad are the bears to allow the broncos to win 😅

6:46 my man. READ YOUR KEYS. When a team runs motion and counters the backfield WILL lie to you. That center and guard sre taking zone steps. Thats all the information you need. The LB needs to maintain that gap which is now moving with the zone. If he does that he runs into the RB.

“Tua has one of the fastest Time-to-Throw(s) (TT) in the league.” You’re more than right about that. Usually his TT time is around 2.6 but I looked just this last week and he is sitting at around 2.35 I believe, quicker than Brady’s was at 2.5. And Tua’s Load-to-Release (LTR) is one of the quickest in history at just over 0.3 - Tua’s average LTR is even supposedly quicker than Marino’s was - so Tua is kind of a “dual-threat” kind of guy with both low TT and LTR numbers. Add on top of that his accuracy on short-to-intermediate routes and uncanny ability to bounce outside the pocket and deliver a dart then, well, the defense has a big problem. (San Francisco did a very good job last year against Tua but they had Bosa chasing him around. And there aren’t too many Nick Bosa’s out there that I can think of.)

Tua's TT stats along with his high ADOT is anomalous as a stat pairing. In part because of the receiver talents he has throwing to. Which as you pointed out is helped with Tua's lightning fast release akin to many play action style QBs.

i suspect the broncos defense spends too much time practicing against Wilson and his style of play. Wilson rarely throws to the middle of the field. he's just too short to see over the linemen.

The chargers tried to disrupt miami's timing by playing press. they were burned and made numerous adjustments. you can't just press at the line and expect an NFL offense to collapse.

You say if they are thrown off of their timing... All the WRs and RBs are on timing. Tua's excellence is knowing where the 2nd and 3rd reads are due to that timing. A lot of times, you cant take away all of that.
