Thank you!! I've been putting off my shot for over a month, and finally did it today. The stretching of the skin and scratching was a super helpful tip. Seriously, I'm deathly afraid of needles, if I was able to do it, so can you. Believe it!!
hi how often should I get them? it’s ok just my local place charge like £150, so quite expensive but i’m desperate to get more energy again & my life back
The best tutorial for giving oneself an injection! The others I’ve watched scared me to death . I appreciate you being so calm as it definitely calmed me down . Thanks so much !
Thank you. My husband unexpectedly died in May and, even though the nurses have shown me twice, I had trouble with this. Did it just fine after watching this video. ❤
Thank you!! Thank you!! Absolutely painless & no discomfort after the injection. This has completely cured my anxiety that I deal with leading up to giving myself a shot.
Thank you. I'm supposed to do my first one tomorrow. I thought I HAD to do it in my upper arm, because that's where my Doctor injected the first one.. I've been trying to figure out how on earth I was going to manage that by myself, so I'm glad I saw this. Great advice. Thank you!
Thank you. The hardest part is just doing it the first time. Once you've done it, it's not as bad as you thought it would be. Thank you for your video. Seeing you do it motivated me to do it.
This video is amazing!!!! I have been so shaky and scared to do my own but following step by step, ESPECIALLY THE SCRATCHING TO DISTRACT!!! GENIUS!! Thank you for doing this!

I DID IT!!!! Thank you, Laurie and all of you that commented with supportive, encouraging testimonies! I didn't realize how nervous I was until it came down to it. Ahh. . .relief. No pain at all. It was just in my head!

@@vanessafinlayFor the muscular shot for the Vit. B12 that I used from the pharmacy (doctor Rx) the syringe was 3mL and 23 gauge. I have also given myself daily B12 injections with a much smaller insulin syringe with B12 that I ordered via mail. These were micro doses that I did for about one month. I used Cyanocobalamin from the doctor's Rx with the once a month injection and larger intramuscular needle; used methylcobalamin with the insulin needle daily (it's more subcutaneous with the shorter needle). The insulin syringe was 31 gauge x 5/16" -- 0.3mL
This was super helpful, thanks! I love the distraction. I may pluck up the courage in a moment to do it. Anyone watching from the UK, Dr Myhill sells B12 in her store.
I’ve done many injections in the ventroglute (hip) I find it to be the easiest spot, and pain free. You can also draw back on the full syringe and replace with a new sharp needle of a smaller gauge. 30 works. Just twist the old one off. It will be dulled from the rubber stopper
Thank you. I'll be giving myself injections and I'm a little nervous. Seems painful unlike prefilled injections. I may be wrong but your video was helpful and I'm going to try your technique to administer my injections.
this seriously was so amazingly helpful. feels a little sore after doing mine but it’s my first and i was a little nervous. honestly not bad at all. the scratching totally helps and the accomplishment you feel after is so worth it. if you see this comment. you can DO IT! i’m so anxious to see if this will help my fatigue
Thank you! Great technique. I will really try. I don't know what it is. I'm in the medical field and can do almost anything...except give myself a shot! O.o
Thank you for the film. I have had the base dosage of 6 shots and the next one in June 2024 I am expected to do it myself. So I am very grateful for your guidance video. I alread inject insulin but the B12 syringe is at least 5 X longer. Reticent doesn't cover what I am feeling.
This is the BEST tutorial - thank you so much! I've always had my husband give me my shots, but I told myself I needed to learn to do it myself bc he would always hurt me. Your video is the only one I could find that actually made sense!! Thank you so much!

@TheCurtisdavies You need to discuss that with your doctor, but I take a shot every 2 weeks. I am thankful my insurance covers most of the cost. For me, B12 injections are a necessity. My body does not naturally absorb B12, and it causes me numerous health problems if I dont get the injections. If it isn't a real necessity, that could be why insurance doesn't cover it. I dont know your situation or the type of insurance you have, but best of luck to you.
Wow thank you. I did it right other than getting it out of the bottle. As I was searching I see ppl buy this without a prescription is there a differnce?
Does the needle go all the way in? Like 100% if the needle? All the way to the hilt? Do I push the plunger in and release all the b12 when needle is all the way in or do I release it a little bit as I’m pulling it out? I’m terrified to do my own shots!!….. I’m not scared if needles , but I cannot seem to do this… I’m getting my courage up… what if I panic and break the needle? I’m sweating bullets just thinking about it….. thanks. (Signed not a baby but maybe toddler-ish? At 50 yrs old 🤣🤣)
very helpful. but how on earth did you poke it into your skin for the very first time? I can't fathom doing this. Does it hurt? How far do you need to push in the needle?
I just started these, pharmacy wanted $13 for a syringe! Bought a box of 50 for $25. Good advice, I didn't know about adding the air to pressurize it and struggle to get it all out. Question; I'm not sure about the propper way to dispose? I cap the needle and put everything back inside the prescription bottle that my vial came in, I've only used 2, they're still sitting in my bathroom. Can they just be tossed in the trash?
I noticed nurse sort of puts the needle up, looks at something, then flicks with her fingers. Is that something to do with air, bubble? PS can u use diabetic needle?
😢 thank you do much i could cry right now i hate needles and now i have to give myself B12 once a month for the rest of my life 😢 and struggled to do the shot and this video made me strong enough to do it thank you you literally saved my life because if not i will suffer blood clots 🩸🩸🩸 this shot will help me not get any more this will prevent bad blood cells from forming 💉😇
I’ve been injecting in my stomach and I feel like it pools underneath the skin. I definitely bruise, usually not always but it is always sore. Does that sound normal? We get our vitamin B from the Caribbean over the counter.
Thank you for this video, because I would have done it in the belly....but this is wrong, right? Another question, how often you do it, sheb you have fibromyalgy?
The belly is good if you are giving a subcutaneous injection. She is doing an IM - even thin folks have some belly fat so you need a much longer needle to get down to a muscle. This is an easy muscle to get to for most people.
The nurse showed me how to apply on my belly. I did not know I can do it in my legs. It looks way easier. My B12 has B6 pre-filled. Can I do still in my legs? Thank you!!!
I just started doing my B12 shots at home myself, today is the first day and I have tried and tried. I have followed you step by step and nothing, nothing will come out and yes the nurse showed me how to do the shots and I did fine but today I'm due for my shot and I have tried multiple times and absolutely nothing will come out
