I might be having to glue my whippets ears. Its always so "fun" to glue ears lol. (I had a Aussie pup for a while that had to be glued) She did awesome! It's always nice when they don't need glued anymore! but then your stuck with a bunch of hair glue to clean lol.
Wuth this glue, its literally just a drop.. no clean up! Easy. Maybe wait until the puppy is tired and less resistant! I have a friend with whippets... they are cute and Soooo fast!
Can you use hair extension tape glue remover? It takes very little and it gets the glue out of our hair when we remove extensions. It can clean up the "tape" area on the extensions as well. Only takes a tiny bit for each tape. I use BigKizzy remover.
Can the ears point up after the glue? I never glued my previous sheltie because I loved the natural movement of her ears which allowed me to read her body language too.
If you're planning to show her, I could understand why you would want to 'train' her ears into the tulip shape. Other than that, she really doesn't need to have tulip ears. But I do admit it is a cosmetically pleasing look; a look that is supposed to evolve naturally in shelties, rough collies, smooth collies. We humans do a lot of things to alter a dog's appearance.
@@olliejasper2862 I'm sorry. Guess I misunderstood what you were doing. Ollie is definitely a good looking little pup. I look forward to watching her grow.
Well, your input is greatly appreciated. By someone perhaps. It isn't only for those planning to show. It doesn't hurt the dog at all. So the question is, why did you feel the need to comment?
I am sorry, well not sorry, as I totally disagree with that or cropping off tails, anything that changes the natural look of puppies. I have never done and will never do. I had one Sheltie both ears were up or both went down at times. My last Sheltie one of hers was up the other down. This one I am not sure yet what it will be as of right now they both stay up but I just don't think it's necessary to change their natural looks.
I get it.. My previous Sheltie, we tried the moleskin and the Sheltie did not like it... and her ears were beautiful, standing straight up with her fur, cascading down the back. I really live that look. But, to make sure the ears stay close together, you would still need to glue... this simple glue with a dot, makes it easy and you can tell in the video, the pup doesn't mind at all...
@@olliejasper2862 You can't know your pup didn't mind it at all. I mean they don't show their dislikes to us on everything and especially don't show when they feel minor discomfort or pain like we do unless it's really bad. Just not necessary to do it as it doesn't benefit the dog at all.
I tried to do this with my puppies ears while he slept. Then when he woke up he was constantly scratching them and scratched off the bond... how on earth do you get these puppies to be cool with this? I feel so bad because he clearly didnt like it. He did not get used to it.
I actually dont want them to flop. I want then to stay closer together and not droop to the sides. So after this video, we let the glue naturally become unattached, and glued only the middle.
@@crystalsangel I never said it was the same but both change the natural looks of dogs. And it is cruel to cause any pain at all or even a minor irritation which can also happen when gluing ears. Gluing the ears requires you to apply strong adhesive chemicals very close to the dog’s ear canal. You must be sure that no product gets inside the ears. Rinse the ear area with hydrogen peroxide both before and after application of the glue. This will sterilize the area and prevent ear infection. IT'S JUST NOT NECESSARY to do that to dogs! There is no benefit to it for them. Love them for their natural beauty but considering how some humans have to change their looks all the time not surprising they think they have to do it to their pets, too. This is a great comment I read once from someone on gluing ears.... "Don't waste your time and effort on gluing your dog's ears, let them turn out however they want. It'll add character to your dog, and s/he'll appreciate having his/her ears left alone."
Surely if these are show dogs, idea being to breed to the natural breed standard, this is “ cheating”. A dog with naturally poor ears may win, and will be bred from.
It amazes me what people will do to animals…tail doxing, ear glued or tape…maybe people should start to think how they would like their ears glued ..or some fingers or toes clipped off. Same goes with the soring of Tennessee walking horses hoofs
It amazes me what some people comment on, without knowing facts. This doesn't hurt the dog in any way. You hear "glue" and apparently think of superglue or something, some permanent disfigurement. It isn't that at all. It is gluing fur to fur for a short period of time, that trains the leather of the ear to tip. It isn't like plastic surgery or something.
No it's not. It's ear gluing dog ears. Very common. Not everyone will like and have there own comment's. If don't like. Please skip the video to another. See dog pulling or something with pitbull's maybe you'll like that.
