Great video! I’m wondering: what was the pinkish purple coral like cactus shown in your vid called? And, can you graft ANY two species of cactus? Thanks!

Thank you for your suggestion. Btw, her name is Mermaid Tail Succulent 💓 Because of surrounding conditional stress, they become more colorful. You can check it out here succulentsbox.com/collections/cactus-succulents/products/euphorbia-lactea-cristata-coral-cactus

No you can’t graft ANY 2 species of cactus. I tried and some don’t work. I’m pretty sure it wasn’t the grafting technique because that was my 4th grafting and the other 3 were successful.

Hey! I am a newbie, and am getting succulents for myself. Especially Echeveria. Am wanting to spray them with fungicides as it's monsoon here and don't want these babies 2 get any infection.. what do u recommend?
@SucculentsBox
@SucculentsBox 2 года назад
Is it often raining in your area? If yes, it's recommended to apply a fungicide before it rains. Besides, you may grow them in containers, and move them under shelter when the weather turns too wet. In humid climate, please move them indoors, provide lots of sunlight and fresh air, and keep a dehumidifier going. Hope your plants grow well 😍

PLEASE I NEED HELP!!! had some couple years old cactus potting mix that became super hydrophobic so looked up how to fix it and it said to soak it in water with liquid fertilizer. So I mixed it all in with a bunch of water and miracle gro for succulents and then it seemed okay. Sol used it to plant a bunch of my baby succulents that am propagating and now it started to fuzz and they've all been exposed to mold. What do do??? HELP ME I don't want to lose these little guys!!!!!!
@SucculentsBox
@SucculentsBox 2 года назад
I'm sorry to hear that. Btw, fungicide is recommended in this situation. If the mold is black, spray the affected leaves with a solution of either horticultural oil or neem oil in the early evening. Neem oil is less toxic and effective in breaking down sooty mold from your plant, especially heavy infested ones. If the mold is grey, you should cut the affected stems, use Dishwashing Soap, and watering from the top should also be avoided.

HOLY HELL you've done everything wrong. FIRST rule, no miracle grow. Secondly, it's DISH SOAP or used laundry water that stops hydrophobic soil. Thirdly, CHANGE THE SOIL by repotting and it solves the soil problem. Honestly this is a pretty bad demonstration of cacti grafting also. I have 200 cacti and another 150 dragonfruit plants.

@@SucculentsBox I grow carnivorous plants, mangroves and ferns. Some succulents which aren't cacti, and the only cacti I do have is a Christmas cactus.

I’d prefer not to get grafted stuff because it may give the false impression that this cactus species grows like this naturally.
@goldenkiwicompote

Many grafted cactus species can grow without a rootstock, but are grafted to help speed up the growth. The only ones that can’t are the red, yellow, orange and pink “moon cactus”. The purple “moon cactus” can grow its own roots as it doesn’t lack chlorophyll like the other mutants of the same species. Sometimes other species of “albino” mutants are grafted as well and can’t survive on their own. Anything with any amount of green or purple can grow its own roots. But yeah look it up if you’re interested. There’s other reasons to graft than a plant lacking chlorophyll.
