Don't need to get under for the middle of the drive shaft. Just take off the passenger side plastic like u would for an oil change and it's right there to grease.
@EscapePowerSports

Hell yeah, I was thinking that might be the case after I posted the video. Thank you for sharing as it'll definitely save some guys some time, now I guess there's no excuse not to just grease it when changing the oil. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment with this helpful tip. Cheers

Danny your videos are awesome, extremely informative and the perfect length. ***There is one more grease fitting. It is on a u-joint at the rear of motor right behind the gear box oil plugs. It is only accessible by removing the same plastics as did for the gear box oil change. You cannot access it from underneath. It is by far the hardest to grease in my opinion. Thanks again for making these videos. Keep up the great work.

Thanks for the kind words. Now that is some great information, hopefully other viewers will join me in liking this comment to ensure it stays towards the top, for all to see. Thank you for watching and especially for taking the time to add additional information on a grease fitting I completely missed down here in the comments. I currently don't have any commanders to go lay eyes on that one myself, but I'm sure others can see this and comment that there machines also have the same fitting on their machines. Thanks for watching and for taking the time to leave additional info down here in the comments, I definitely think as this channel grows the comment section will be a wealth of information that might exceed the info provided in the videos so thank you for being an early contributor to that. Cheers

My 2019 had the 3 on each side in the front. There wasn’t one on the front drive line. There was one on a u-joint about where your feet are under a skid plate. There were none above the skid plate back from there. Under the last skid plate there were 2 on the u-joints before the differential. So that is 9 total for my 2019.

How about a video on replacing the starter and one way bearing on a 2011 Commander 1000. Or years similar. Ive only found replacing the starter on a 1000 Outlander and hoping they aren't the same. Awesome grease video, i definitely learned something. I just purchased my 11 Commander from Family with 1500 miles and 240hrs. So i have alot to learn in a short time. The machine starts fine when its at air temperature. But when it warms up starter barely turns over. Yes the battery is fine at 12.8v and I load tested battery, was very good. Thanks Curt L.

The video was awesome!! I did discover that I could access the 2 grease fittings under the skid plate without removing the skid plate by simply removing the plastic on passenger side from the inside of cab. I discovered this.as I was changing the oil which gave me easy access...They were very easy to get to... hope this is helpful! Thanks again guys!

Hey man I love the channel I would like to get your suggestions on performance upgrades on a Can-Am Commander 800 RDPS
@EscapePowerSports
@EscapePowerSports 2 года назад
As far as raw power performance I don't typically do much in the way of modification (like the durability of stock internal engine components, just my .02), depending on the terrain a custom clutch set up can help for specific environments like rocks or hill climbs. Some must have modifications for me on these machines are a cheap winch (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Vh-xamRxvJI.html), lightbars (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PRJB0ICXbOM.html), and a roof (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-U2RGI_i3i4U.html) which are more cosmetic/utility modifications than performance oriented. The correct size and pattern tire tread can drastically improve these machines capabilities in different environments as well. Sorry that doesn't really answer your question, but hope it helps. Thanks for watching and taking the time to leave a thought provoking question in the comments. Cheers

I just bought a Commander Max XT and I have been searching for grease fittings all over. I also replaced all the brakes mostly cause the pads and rotors were pretty wore out, but also cause they squeak. Everything is new and they still squeak.
@EscapePowerSports
@EscapePowerSports 3 года назад
The service manual should help find all the grease fittings on that max and I'm not sure if they happen to have the same suspension set-up as the maverick max, but if so here's a link to a video I did on greasing a maverick max: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-y7fFxKb77Oo.html As far as the brakes go, not really sure why they are still squeaking if they arn't wet? maybe a caliper is getting sticky? Either way congrats on the new machine and I appreciate you watching and taking the time to share your experience in the comments. Cheers

I have a 2019 commander 1000 and there is no grease fitting near the front diff. There is a fitting at the front of the engine but the zerk appears not to be for the ujoint but for the shaft itself. Grease came out the shaft. Is there something wrong?
@EscapePowerSports
@EscapePowerSports 4 года назад
hmmm it is definitely starting to sound like some of the newer machines do not have a grease fitting available for the font diff as far as greasing the shaft, I can't say for sure as far as the 100% proper method for greasing the shaft as I've never had one of the newer machines or a service manual for one, I probably would have just gone until I saw fresh grease. However I did have another viewer comment that the service manual does mention going until the seal bulges, but doesn't necessarily break. So a follow up grease video might be in order. Thanks for watching and sharing this valuable information for those guys watching with newer machines. Cheers

On the grease gun, when the rod doesn't go back in, pull it out against the spring tension slightly and twist the T-handle a 1/4, and push in back in. I'm not sure exactly the mechanicals of it, but pull it, twist it and it will slide right in at the perfect spot.

@EscapePowerSports
@EscapePowerSports 5 лет назад
haha interesting thought, didn't know there could be "to much grease", why would repacking these bushings/u-joints until it comes out be a problem?
@ckrakra2954
@ckrakra2954 4 года назад
Teres no need for calling him a fool firstly. Secondly you are right about it being a little much grease. Technically you don't want to break that seal and force grease out you want to pump just enough grease in that you see the seals slightly buldge. That's every automotive service manual ever, however it rarely works that way and you'll almost always have grease escaping. After wet rides or washing I think you're better off to push that water out even if you're breaking a seal.
@maritimegoalie
@maritimegoalie 4 года назад
Actually one of the reasons you grease is too force any water out of the ujoint so you definitely break the seal...
@ckrakra2954

@@maritimegoalie I concur. Manuals say one thing but in our world something else happens.
@EscapePowerSports
@EscapePowerSports 4 года назад
@@ckrakra2954 I have recently started using service manuals as I've started attempting more serious jobs, at the time of the video basic maintenance was the majority of my mechanical skill set. Since attempting more serious jobs recently I now know how great manuals are and will be using the manufacturers service manual for every job we film. I'd generally say who are we to question the manufacturers recommendation for the equipment they designed, engineered, and manufactured so there might be an updated video coming in the future where we address or at least acknowledge all of the manufacturers suggestions on servicing their equipment. But that is a good thought about pushing out the water so its hard to say. This is how I've always done it, but when a superior method or more correct way comes along I'm all game for it. This isn't the first time I've learned something I had no idea about in the comment, and I'm glad Terry G brought it up. Thanks for watching and taking the time to share valuable information and constructive feedback in the comments. Cheers
