How to Grease King Pins on Mercedes T1 | General Maintenance 

Good video Max, and a great reminder to keep King Pins greased on a regular basis (I do mine every service as a habit) Couple of things that others may find helpful, based on my own experience with a 1991 T1 : Firstly, lift the front wheels off of the ground. By taking the weight off of them, it’s amazing how much easier the grease flows into the king pins I replaced my standard grease gun connector with a SnapOn needle type connector. This is superb when the grease nipple is seized, as the needle just pushes the middle valve in and frees it up (and with a 30+ year old van it’s very likely you’ll some across some stiff nipples !) Finally, I’ve never had a problem using a full sized gun, perhaps because mine has a decent length flexi hose and the needle attachment Keep up the great work Max, safe and happy travels 😊

I always thought the wheels should be off the ground when greasing king pins?

From Michael P in Watford - I’ve spotted a Merc Sprinter Luton Van - colour black on Van Trader for £7000 which does interest me. Of course, lacks the charm and personality of Rose. At 230,000 miles on a 15 plate seems high to me and at that mileage I would be concerned about the engine, gearbox etc but I suppose it depends on how it was driven and maintained. If this van was more local to me, I would see it in person and take it out for a test drive - I’m interested in your thoughts.
