From Michael P in Watford - I am a real novice when it comes to the more technical side of vehicle maintenance, as a previous owner of a Luton van I did all the basic things myself including Wax oil underneath - watching and learning from these videos is making me think of doing something mad like buying a second hand Luton van again as I miss my old van which was overrun with rust As with your travel/adventure videos I shall look forward to future videos on this channel too

Nice one Max, those gear linkage parts are definitely worth carrying. I’ll get one of those springs when I’m next at the Merc depot. Happy New Year fella, safe travels

Interesting video Max. All very important. Big problem with my van. 5 spare wheels haha. Normal one and then 4 wheels with snow tyres. Mate a bit pissed off as taking up room at his place lol. All the Very Best Wishes for the New Year Mate 🙏

Hi I'm going to put that on my to do list over the winter purchase throttle springs to carry as spares, we don't use our T1 208 over winter but we maintain her and improve things ready for the new season,

You probably know about these 2 things, but just to clarify, have a spare blank for the last injector nearest you when driving, mine rotted out and left me struggling to find another, and also the connection to the injection pump from the cable has a rubber component that rots out and then you have no connection to the pump from the accelerator, keep wire handy to use until a replacement can be obtained. Also dont be surprised if you never get better than 22mpg, I haven't !!

Ah shit no i could do with a blank, thabks a lot! but I have changed all the pipes now. Ah yes, my throttle spring snapped before so I just took the cover off and operated it from the side of the engine haha! I have seen 23/24 on motorways!!

@@MercedesT1Diesels I also have 15 inch michelins installed to lower the revs, and I forgot, an automatic gearbox.
