The Milwaukee M18 grease gun is nice to have as well, especially if you have a lot of stuff to maintain. Lock & lube grease fitting too.

I like that tool. There seem to be different sizes. 40mm seems to be what fits the rear bearings (I have an 01 500 HO). Is the tool you have 40mm? I also see a 35mm and a 44mm listed that advertisers claim fits the front wheel bearings, but they must be for newer models that do not use the Demand Drive with hub oil? Thanks for the video and sharing your knowledge!

I bought the 3. It came in a kit. I think I use the 40mm.

I’ve got some problems finding specifications on driveline fluids on a 2004.5 atp 500 H.O the manuals are pretty unclear and none of the part numbers seem to be the same I tried to search forum’s but it there doesn’t seem to be a whole lot on the ATP models if you have any advice on where to look or videos it would be much appreciated

Polaris makes all the fluids. I would contact a dealer. What fluids are asking about?

@@TitaniummanGarage I was referring to angle drive fluid, demand drive fluid, and agl fluid which from what I’ve seen is transmission fluid I called the dealer and they said that I don’t need angle drive fluid for either of the gear cases but the manual says the rear gearcase takes 80-90w gl-5 gear lube which is the weight of the angle drive fluid so that confused me the demand drive fluid doesn’t specify weight on it. The machine has sentimental value to me so I wanna make sure I don’t f$$k it up lol thanks for taking the time to reply!

@@loganorth6436 I think the 2004 was the last year for the Demand Drive hubs. So, for your hubs you should empty them, then refill with Demand Drive Hub Fluid or ATF type F. The front gearcase will use Angle Drive Fluid (~4-6oz.) and the transmission in the back will use AGL Gearcase lube (~20oz.). That is in accordance with the OEM service manual and owners manual. Its confusing because Polaris has since superseded some numbers for fluids: PN 2871653 (ATV front gear drive fluid) has been superseded by PN 2876160 (Angle Drive Fluid) and for engine oil PN 2871281 (0W-40 Premium Synthetic oil) has been superseded by PN 2876244 (PS-4 5W-50 Full Synthetic, all-season Polaris oil. For me, I still had some OEM fluids and have been using them until I run out. I would love to hear TG chime in on the engine oil. I still run 0W-40 as spec'd in the manuals, but Polaris has changed to a heavier oil.
