Man that was one of my biggest fears was thinning on my hairline . I’m also already thinning on my hairline, I never used minoxidil on my hairline for the specific reason that it pushes hairs thru the growth cycle and they become dependent on the minoxidil it basically speeds up MPB.. seeing you talk about how it made your scalp hair thinner is discouraging. I’m already in fin to stop that from happening so I’m hoping minoxidil won’t make me lose more head hair.

If it’s going to start making the hairs in my head thin out then I don’t want to risk it. I rather have a patchy beard with a head full of hair than a full beard with a balled head

If you all are serious about using this for beard growth you will need to use this for 2 years too insure good terminal hair growth. I noticed it took over a year and half to really see a meaningful difference. Once the hair becomes terminal it's there for good even if you stop. As far as where to apply it, I only applied it in areas you need growth. This stuff enters the bloodstream and it will grow hair in other areas that hair should normally grow. You need to stick with it for this time as once it's done you have a full beard for life. Another tip I found appeared to help was let your beard grow out no matter how patchy for at least 2 months the shave it down to a stubble and let grow again. This seemed to promote more growth for me. Be sure your skin is totally dry when applying foam which I feel is better than liquid. Just an idea. Goodluck

Thinning on top of the head will only effect those that are already losing their hair it won't effect others, also it's short term, you won't just keep losing hair. I really do think derma roller helps with both the hair and beard it works well with the minoxidl.

Thanks bro. The hair loss lasted less than a month and all my hair grew back. I didn’t notice any hair loss in my temple areas but everyone is different. Hope this helps

minoxidil hair loss isnt permanent, to be honest that just sounds like you are going bald and you only noticed it because of the minoxidil and you are trying to point fingers at it to blame it

hey just thought i'd clear this up, minoxidil restarts your hair growth phases and starts it right into the growth phase (instead of the resting phase it was at). as a result the current hair will fall out rapidly and be replaced by the new hair growth, it's expected and a natural part of the process

1- just the problem areas. 2- you have to use it at least for 1 1/2 years or so to make sure you keep all the new hair.

Your hair is thinning, but it is normal to shed 10-15 hairs in the shower. You shed about 50-100 strands of hair a day

I remembered using the the Kirkland liquid one. I didn't loose hair but it did feel like it made my hair fuller. I didn't get to finish the treatment as sometimes I would forget to use it until I stopped. The liquid one would make your beard so itchy and make your skin ashy. I will try using the foam one and actually stick to the treatment.

Been using minoxidil on and off for a couple years. I had a light mustache, some chin hair and a little hair on my sideburns. Now my chinstrap connects fully on my left side and partially connects on my right side. My chin hair got thicker and now i have patchy hair on my cheeks and a few hairs connecting my mustache and chin hair. Now I'm back on it, hopefully my beard comes in by December.

i tried using a beard roller and applied Minoxidil after i only did this in spots i wanted more hair and so far im seeing great progress i do it like twice a week and it seems to be working i havent noticed much hair loss either ive been doing this for about 2 months so far.

FYI you aren't supposed to apply minox immediately after beard rolling. The purpose of rolling is to stimulate your blood cells to promote cell growth, not poke tiny holes in your face to allow for "better absorption" of the minox. It's actually pretty bad to do that bc the minox can cut into the cuts and cause infections. If you do roll, you're supposed to wait at least 12+ hours to allow for the micro cuts to heal before applying more minox.

Hairfall occurs because minoxidil eliminates the hairs in telogen phase and starts to grow new hair in that place. So if you have a hair fall problem prior to using minoxidil, hairfall will increase initially, but after new hair replaces the telogen stage hairs the hair fall will stop.

They are both the same company it’s just a different trademark in the US. Johnson & Johnson make both products

Yes it's the same thing, but if you want results, you must keep applying for a year to see true results, let it grow out a month, then shave and repeat this the entire year, keep your go-tee short as well. You will see a big difference in a year and will have a full beard, that is ready to go ahead and grow out. Be patient, but even after the year you want to keep using.

Also, it looks to me that if you just let your beard grow without Minox, it would look exactly the same. Those patches are being covered by the hairs around it due to them getting longer.

Dude, how old were you when you started this? I've been trying to grow out facial hair since I was 22, I ended up just shaving it off then since I can't really grow it thick. I am 24 now and I stopped shaving when the pandemic happened, and I got a considerable length of mustache now (I ultimately just shaved off the beard because honestly it just looked like pubic hair - it was long, alright, I can grow really long facial hair, it's not a matter of length, but of thickness), but it's still not as thick as I'd hoped. I am wondering whether I should try these beard-growing applications or maybe just wait it out - it may just be a matter of age? Though I remember my dad being able to grow a considerable thickness at this age, so I don't know. I am Hispanic, by the way (Spanish & Cuban mix). But is there like a certain age I have to be before I should try this? I mean, aside from the possible negative side effects listed, would it mess with my natural ability to grow hair? Like if I did it now instead of waiting to see if it will eventually mature by itself with age?

@@CesarCinema Nah, you're handsome, dude. The only problem is that when you're bald you have to find a style to go with it(that also represents you) and invest some time in learning which clothes exactly you need to buy. I always loved piercings, even before I went bald, so I have a few of those. And "casual rock" fits me well without making me look immature.

If you just grow the beard for a good two months, then the sleeper hairs start coming through at two weeks. They grow Very slowly, but account for up to 50% of the coverage. You just need lots of patients to let it grow. Don't bother with buying products until you have tried to grow it for two months and evaluate the result. Hope you found this helpful :-)

Hey, I want to ask you if you feel like any of the hair you lost grew back? I read that the hair loss is due to new hair follicles forming and growing out the old ones so just curious if the hair on top of your head grew back. Thanks for you response in advance!

I’ve started a minoxidil journey, I’ve been a week into it I think I’ve seen my hairs grown a little longer (I’ve never had a beard I’m 21 years old, just a little side burns which are growing a bit) I’ve went number 1 on my hair on my head to make it more easy for my journey because since I started taking minoxidil I’ve had my hair itchy so I just went all number 1. I’m using minoxidil foam (ILL UPDATE YOU GUYS JUST REMIND ME)

CHAN G (1 and half month progress) don’t know why RU-vid keeps deleting my comments but I answered your question anyway, with the foam I don’t think there’s any major side effects expect headaches they’ll come and go, it did not effect my hair on my head at all. Also my sideburns are coming out more so is my moustache it’s getting darker, I don’t think you get that many side effects with the foam. I didn’t lose/she’d any hair. The thing is we always shedd hair but when people start using minoxidil they pay extra attention to hair shedding because it’s a side effect so people think that’s the cause but if you see your hair rn it’s probs shedding so yeh. Don’t worry about the shedding because your hair sheds either way it didn’t effect me at all I think. It’s definitely working I can see the baby hairs coming out.

just keep using. In some people 12months are required to see good results on hair growd. .spots where the skin is damaged such as scars or burns no hair will grow btw so that litle spot might be the case :) maybe some acne scar

Good result with the beard. But trust me with one thing. Stop using Toppik. I Used it for years and then shaved my head because I was just tired with covering it up. It was harder to accept from going from moderate thinning to bald. Rather just shave the head and be happy. You wont look back. Toppik hides everything quite good and you get used to having "hair"

I used minox for a year and I gained some decent facial hair but also quite a lot of arm, shoulder and nose hair. Not inside my nose.. I already had that, no on my nose. Lots of small black hairs growing on my nose.

It doesn't speed up your hair loss. It's just that the drug causes the cycle of shedding and regrowing to get a little out of whack so your hair sheds prematurely before the regrowth cycle. Most of the time it is temporary and the cycle fixes itself causing your hair to grow back thicker than before. And if on the rare case it isn't temporary and it keeps happening then stopping use of the product will cause your hair to go back to how it was before.

To people with genetically predisposition to hair loss creatine causes the hair losing. It affect more production DTH. But for people with no hair loss issues its OK.

I did a cycle of creatine and used Minoxdil and I had very bad mood swings something I have never had. I've used both separately and had no effects but for some reason together I felt angry and annoyed often. This is just my experience but it was enough for me to stop the Creatine.

Hi Caeser, Any hairloss you see is normal, the hair will come back in and should be much thicker than before. Minoxidil will not grow new hair where there is none but will retain and thicken existing hair. I am a hairloss expert and have worked in the hair transplant industry for around 7 years.
