I was eating an apple back in late January when I saw this video and decided to follow the steps. It's about two months later now, in late March, and I took the seeds out of the fridge about a week ago and it worked! All except one or two germinated, so now I have six healthy sprouts coming along, and I'm gonna give some out to my friends. :)
There's no need to put those seeds inside the refrigerator. Just plant it directly it works 100% that's my experience. I planted more than 40 apple seeds, & all is well. You can try it, it tooks only 3 weeks to pooped up the seeds👍🏼
I found already germinated seeds in my apples today so decided to play around a bit. Don't think the tree will thrive in my climate, but it's fun to see how a plant grows from a seed. Managed to do this once with lemon or tomato.

Thank you for the video. Does it matter what time of the year you begin the process? For example, if I stratify the seeds now at the start of summer, and they begin to germinate at the end of summer, will they be too young to survive the cold by the time winter arrives?
Hi Charlotte. You can start them now but I would recommend bringing them into a cold but protected area over winter. (It is important they have a dormant period over winter). Keep safe

Hi Emma. Thank you for your appreciation. The plant in the video is only 6 months old so wont flower this year. I grew one a while back, this is its 3rd spring and has flowered for the first time.

Hi Alessia. If you leave it then the tree will keep growing taller (not weaker). If you cut it then it will encourage the lower branches to bush out. Keep safe.

That range sounds too high unfortunately but do a search to see if there are any varieties that will tolerate the higher temperatures. Best wishes and keep safe.
Thank you. But why did you think time is not important? For example, put it in fridge and take out, but when? When to move it from the pot...finally when it will produce apples?
Actually the first step of keeping the seeds in the refrigerator can be skipped. Keep or store one of the bought apples for longer time at your home, the seeds would start sprouting inside the fruit itself. Then when you cut the apple place them in wet towel and place them near any window for sunlight. The germination will have progress
thank you for the video I just wanted to ask about how much watering does it need ? I tried planting them I got them to the seedling stage they continued to grow but they died suddenly and I don't know what happened , the temperature was a range from 18 to 22 C and I put them on a south facing window all day and I watered them everyday and their growth was really slow and their leaves stayed small and eventually they died :(( any tips on what might I have did wrong ? please
The usual causes for failure are too much/too little water or too much/too little heat. Did you use fresh compost? I had some die in the past due to a fungal rot - you must use fresh compost to help avoid this. Too much water also causes root rot so only water when the compost feels dry to the touch. Keep safe.
What I do is to eat the apple and spit out the pips as the only thing that's left over after I have consumed the apple is the pips and the stick then I put the pips on a window sill for a couple of days and then put them in a brown paper bag till spring then plant 🪴them out in a pot in the greenhouse to strengthen Happy days . I am in zone 6 and my seeds have germinated from being in the refrigerator since November. I’m ready now to plant the germinated seeds in little pots. It is now March. When I’m ready later this year would it be ok to plant outside. Would it survive our winters here in Kentucky or would it be best to still keep in pots and sit outside but bring in when the weather turns cold.
