If you change the water once a week, during the first couple of months, the whole process goes faster. Guaranteed.

Why doesn't he put the seeds directly into the soil? 🤔
@PizzaHutDogTraining

Ioannis Tsakiris you can do that but it’s better to let it sprout in water then moving it into soil later on.
@The_Black_Hatz
@The_Black_Hatz 4 года назад
@@ioannistsakiris6253 there is a risk of mold developing on the seed because of the bacteria from the soil

I tried three seeds in the way introduced, and hopefully they could survive and merge in this cold winter, and I need roughly 7-10 avocado trees or similar evergreen fruit trees to block sunlight to my balcony, and if they could produce edible fruit, it is a bonus. Nowadays each HASS is for $2. Totally bankcrupt.

I'm trying this out again..the first seed died after 3months...it split open grew a root and after planting it died after a month. so with this second seed that I started right after, it seems to be doing well. It split open with a small root and the top is growing through also, something that the other one didn't do...but just in case I plan to start two more this weekend and see what happens by the Spring.

I didn't have any toothpicks on hand so here is what I did. I got an empty dejablue water bottle, cut (just above the label) turn the cut off top upside down and you have a homemade Avocado seed germinating vase. The vase is wider than needed to accommodate an Avocado seed, and no need to poke anything into your seed in-order to stay hovering over water. Also the Avocado roots will form perfectly. Just keep your seed near 50% submerged.

acidexpierence that was ten months ago. Also, most plants needs fast moving water for aquaponics, because roots need air, but Potatoes are an exception. Potatoes are fine in still water. And, water does _not_ need to be cleaned, only refilled. Plants take nutrients from the dirty water. Know what you're talking about before being a late dick.

@gwendale 7 лет назад
Its ok to change the water. I live in a tropical country where there are mosquitoes, they breed on my avocado cup that's why I often change the water. They grow fast and after two months I am now gonna transplant them to a pot with soil. Hope this helps.
@SwayNotZay
@SwayNotZay 7 лет назад
if you like in Georgia like me I don't really change the water I change it 1 a week or 2 a week but if you change it every day I suppose you should not. the reason is because the water makes little orginisams that are bad and that are good the good ones go into the plant and the bad ones are to small to harm the plant
@RobBackyardGardenerr
@RobBackyardGardenerr 7 лет назад
