Very nice! It is evident that you care about your viewers having success in following your recipes! I'm always afraid to buy bean sprouts or alfalfa sprouts because of listeria bacteria. I'm glad to know how to do it at home - and I can do just a few at a time if I want just enough for one recipe. I don't cook Chinese very often, but I have been doing it more since I found your videos! Thank you for all you do. The ingredients list at the end was a nice bonus, too!
I just watched like 20 ways to grow these being sprouts and I love yours that I actually subscribed to your channel I will look forward to all your videos thank you for your great video I enjoyed it and thank you so much for the recipe as well have a great day God bless and take care sweetie👍🏻👍🏻🥰
Thank you so much, this made it much clearer about growing bean sprouts. Too many videos show long bean sprouts after 3 days but at 3 days mine are the same length as yours so I will grow for 2 more days tfs
Thank you Mandy. I just have to buy cheese cloth! Easy to find. It's nice because I don't want to use kitchen paper very toxic (formaldheide) . As you use to, very clear and dynamic video. Your energy is refreshing, your explanations are just perfect, and the result gives motivation. Bravo Mandy. Bonjour from France ! 🇫🇷
Very nice videos. Great presentation and knowledge base. We will be making many of your recipes and following your tips. Newbies to Asian cooking at home, we have mastered Vietnamese/Thai spring rolls and the sprouts we buy are typically slimy (supply chain > 5 days). Tips for others, not to diss you: We are chemists/microbiologists/food scientists. -Use sterile water when possible (can be purchased low $ at many stores) -Do not use hands, no matter how "clean" they are, also realize that bacteria/fungi are ubiquitous. This is why if one opens a non-carbonated sugar/syrup-sweetened beverage and then closes it; after several days unrefrigerated, mold/yeast will begin to grow... Thanks again for sharing your knowledge of authentic methods.
Hi there, thank you so much for sharing this video! Can you tell me how to grow your bean sprouts so tall, strong and evenly? Do you need to put weigh on top of the beans?
I have been buying poor quality sprouts at my supermarket, then I saw a video of what good sprouts look like. Then I found your procedure, I will be doing this.
Friend, since when does a different opinion equal HATE?? It sounds to me like the one with “issues” is you. Those thumbs down could simply mean someone disagrees with the method taught. I was taught a completely different and much more complicated method of bean sprouting. The baby sprouts had to be compressed under a heavy weight for a couple of days. In this area , the hard core sprouters still insist on this method. I love this new simple method. It’s much quicker, easier, and has a much higher success rate. I seriously doubt any of the old method sprouters HATE this dear woman or her teaching. They have a different opinion--which they were asked to express through a thumbs up or down! Everyone calling anything and everything HATE is what is causing HATE!!!
@@oksills they sell seed sprouting jars, which is even easier and quicker. It's basically a Mason with a screen on the lid. You juxt Place the seeds in the Jar, and soak a, day. Then all you do is leave the jar by your sink. And rinse then a, few times a day. They sprout right in the jar! The screen makes rinsing a,SNAP
Thank you for shaing this method for growing bean sprouts as we have not been able to buy them here locally and I love using them in egg rolls and in my stirfry.
My chinese father moved to Cuba in the 70's and married my mother there. He bought a nice house and as a child I went with him to the roof top of the house where he grew bean sprouts and dried shrimp. Since he worked in a chinese newspaper printing company there, he had access to a surplus of old newspapers that he used on the roof top to grow the sprouts. He would make setup a thick bed of newspaper, lay out the seeds and cover it with a thin layer. Those sprouts grew long and full. He would sell dried shrimp and bean sprouts in the black market.

Best video I've seen so far, and by a LOT. Thank you!. Cute fun presentation, good information, and inspiring. I've only sprouted mung beans for my 'Dave Fu Yung', but that salad looks like my next victim.
Awesome. I love sprouting because sprouts are incredibly nutritious. I've sprouted mung beans several times. I usually begin snacking on them as soon as they grow a tail, though :)
This explanation of how to grow the real Asian style fat and long white bean sprouts is perfect and the best I've seen from many youtube clips I've seen. My husband tried it out directly and it really turned out great! Now it's my turn to try it out! Her recipe also seems awesome. I love the fact that she is authentic from Asia where they use bean sprouts a lot in their cooking. A great how to video clip!
Hello! I'm 16 years old and cooking is one of my favorite things to do ever since I watched my grandmother cook. I really love to try different kinds of food and I love the way you explain things and how well it turns out in your videos. Thank you and God bless.
Thank you for your help. Your videos are are precise and easy to follow. I love all the detail: why you should and why you shouldn't. I appreciate your detailed explanations of what can go wrong and how to prevent it. Thank you for helping me become a better home cook.
I love bean sprouts. I eat them raw as a snack and in salads. I also love using them to make egg foo young. I would love to see you do a video making this.
Found a plastic sieve and bowel that fit together with a lid at the Dollar Store for $2.00 for making my Mung Bean Sprouts! Will have to find Cheese Cloth to make them all stand up like yours. Best Bean Sprouting video ever!!! Thank you
I love you Mandy you are a legend thanks for sharing such a beautiful recipe 🥰🇦🇺 I wonder if you’ll be so kind to teach us how to make tofu please🙏🏻pleasy 🙏🏻please 🙏🏻with sugar on top🙏🏻 🇦🇺🤩🦘
This is a very detailed explanation. Thanks for making this video. Very helpful to someone who is trying it for the first time. Please make more of these videos. Great presentation! ❤️
Nicely done, Mandy. Safe travels! I have just returned from Chongqing, and Sichuan food is my favorite. Thanks so much for your videos. I regularly make the dishes you demonstrate, and always keep a jar of chili oil with peanuts handy. Like you, I put them on everything - - eggs, noodles, dipping scallion pancakes, and more.
I make a egg drop Chinese soup with the bean spouts by scramble two eggs and drop it into the soup with some soy sauce, p r pper a which I add a 1 4 of ginger and minced chives a few frozen peas and tiny pieces of pork for protein and maybe a few Chinese noodles a little spinach minced up lots of vitamins good for flu and on a cold day and your diet, only 200 calories for weight 6 Oz 100, so have 12 Oz and am very full. Also 1 table of olive oil totall is 4 servings of 12 Oz. At 120 call table spoon so measure it. Also use a nice ceramic pot or a crock pot, enjoy use some of your own ideas to adjust it.
Hi Mandy I've been growing my own bean sprouts so that I have fresh ingredients. I use them for noodle dishes but my favourite is Korean style salad. Very helpful tips that you out lined, TQ
Thank you for sharing. May I ask how to grow short and fat beansprouts? I tried growing using the beansprouts machine but it grows long and skinny on the 3rd day.
First time here and I love this channel ! Clear, easy to understand and follow. I also LOVE the Ingredients list at the end with all the recipes/explanations. Very well done ! Thank you
Hi Mandy, I'm new to your channel and I gotta say I love the recipes you share on youtube. I just tried your chicken show mein recipe last night and it came out great. It will now be my go to recipe for chow mein. I do have a request for you and I'm hoping you'll be able to help me with it. I recently started cooking more Asian influenced dishes and wanted to know if you could make a video on how to use the prepackaged tamarind paste (seedless). I bought a block at a local Asian grocery store and I have no idea how to use/prepare it for cooking. Any help is appreciated! :)
you can use tamarind paste to make some Thai food. I am sorry that I don't have recipes for that yet but you can check out my favorite Thai cooking channel called "Hot Thai Kitchen". She is a lovely lady and I love her food a lot.
I tried this once a month. So nice to do it at home. I love that you break down the proportions, see how much maximize beans can grow after soaked in water.
