One can harvest them only once a year in the spring and that for a very short period. You need MANY ferns for a meal. You can only pick 50% of the fiddleheads i.e. 3-4 per plant. Mine usually grow 4-5' tall so they make big fiddleheads. We usually eat only 2 meals a year. They spread fairly quickly and if you transplant the wayward ones in early Spring it is rare for them do die off.
Wish you would do some regular garden tours like other channels. It was refreshing to see the plethora of shade loving plants in this video. (though I don't see the need of having a picture of you speaking)
