How I wish I can grow taro here as easy as you can. We buy them dried here in the US. I am from the Philippines and we cook taro a lot, adding coconut milk and meat. Great video! Glad I found your beautiful channel.

you can grow in the US. even in the freeze weather, they'll come back next year, if you didn't harvest.

I want to try to plant taro from the grocery store and see if it grows. I heard if it's firm and not soft it might be fresh enough to grow. Start it indoors in a warm place and plant out when it's warm outside.

You harvest them too early. You should have waited for, leaves to turn dry its a sign that taro is ready

Actually, that is the best soil for it as it grows naturally in that type of soil. Also, not all healthy soil is loose and black. Maybe do some research on different types of soils.
