I have harvested my 1/4 acre of Zinnias and now have 40 gallons of seeds. My plan is to hydroseed about 2 acres next year and it makes a wonderful pollinator for my honey bees.
Not sure if you are saving your seeds or buying in bulk but if you have the time to save your own seeds zinnias are great to save because they produce a lot of seeds. Your flowers look beautiful! I planted zinnias last year for the first time and I will be planting them every year from now on, they were a hit at the farmers market and they made beautiful bouquets to give away as well.
I hand planted mine in rows three rows about six inches apart then a row and they choked out any grass or weeds. I never sprayed anything on them. I grow all organic because we eat right from the garden so I don’t want any pesticides or chemicals on anything.
Have you considered flame weeding just prior to the zinnia seed emergence? To kill off any weeds that way instead of herbicides? Great vid Farmer Dre. Appreciate the transparency.

Farmer Dre, hope this is not a dumb question 😬 but what did you use to make the walking rows? What machine do you use to go back and cut rows for walking? Lawn mower? Weed eater? Thanks. 😊
Not a professional, but a couple of things come to mind. First, sometimes birds eat the seeds, if you surface planted Or 2, did the seeds dry out after you planted them?
Dre you didn't address soil prep and fertilization which is the most important part you just making more work and expense to kill grass by planting grass seeds that is your profit
I love your video!! I have been unfortunately in the hospital for 2 and a half years on and off .. I just got home last week from 3 weeks in. Well I'm glad to be alive and I planted all lilly Putin zinnias in all 3 flower beds!!! I love them so much that I even named my cat Lily Putin. Her and I are in the picture for my profile. I want to see all my favorite flowers bloom in bloom in bloom this year because it's a good time to enjoy the flowers and to be alive it' s what are my favorite flowers and it makes the saying stop and smell the flowers very real and important!! If you have any tips on how to get more flowers out of my bed so I would sure appreciate it. Dude, I wouldn't go near your field or buy your flowers. You use poison to grow your stuff. Seriously, you need to learn about regenerative farming and protect the earth from poison. You have so much potential and energy that you can channel in a much better way.
