Thank you. I have wanted to add lining to my crochet blankets, for years. But I couldn't figure it out. I tried explaining what I wanted to someone who quilts. She told me i couldn't do that for my crochet blankets. So I gave up on it. Then I typed it in to RU-vid and you came up! Thank you. Thank you.

I think for those who do not use a sewing machine, an option would be to use a pillow case and the knit then blanket to the measure of the case...

I have been really struggling to figure out how to back an enormous crochet project and this worked PERFECTLY! Didn't have to be perfect and was SO easy. I saw some people mentioning corners: I just added extra stiches until I was straight on the next edge. My project was double crochets, so I 3-4 per corner.

This tutorial has helped me a lot, Melanie, even though I don’t have a sewing machine, it’s perfectly clear and not that much sewing, after all. I always worry about little fingers getting trapped in my baby blankets! I have lined one or two with fleece in the past, but my multi-talented crafty witch of a sister will always do any difficult bits for me. I shall be very proud to be able to show her one I’ve done all by myself! Thank you!

I had envisioned this for over three years. And I stumbled upon your tutorial today. I crochet a queen size blanket using the crocodile stitch. I wanted to add material to the back side but wasn't exactly sure how to execute. I just had a baby and I'm excited to use this technique on her blankets! Thank you!

Sorry, I just meant for the seams to be sewed. I did watch the video. I watch all your videos and absolutely love them. I just finished crocheting a color block blanket learned from your tutorial. Sorry, I only meant is there an alternative to the seam part, where you used the machine. I didn't hear any mention of glue but I will definitely give that a try! What glue do you recommend? Just fabric glue? Thank you, Mrs. Ham! I love all your videos!

I’m doing this to my knitted blanket I made with a patch pattern cause I don’t use very thick yarn. Also I will be adding some sewing accents on the fabric side to give it those bumps some plain blankets have. Sorry I’m not good at explaining, I’m only a high school student.

I'm so struggling with mine. Only because I bought the unicorn utopia crochet pattern and there are puff unicorn circle heads and I can't seem yo get it to stretch right to be even for the unicorn fabric I bought. I could had tied in all the ends but ilof course I did the whole pattern not in order the way it was suppose to be done. I also used 2 way off yarn thicknesses for the rainbows which caused parts to not lay flat. I have to give this as a gift tomorrow and. Kt sure what I'm going to do. Seem how the back looks like crap unless I putt something over the back.

As others have mentioned, no sewing machine is listed in the title. Then you go and use a sewing machine HOW do you hand-sew this, what stitches do you recommend? Running stitch that will be removed once the crochet edging is in place?? Not all of us have a sewing machine, so suggestions would be much appreciated.
@monicalawhorn2485
@monicalawhorn2485 6 лет назад
rosewind52 did you not watch the entire video? She used the machine on the fabric only. Gave no sew options for that step as well. The rest of the video is hand sewing and crochet.

Monica Lawhorn I have just replayed the video. I did not find the option or stitch recommended for hand sewing the fabric. Naturally, I will manage but did find this video a little misleading. However, I have also learned a couple of things so overall it was worth watching.

Hello! I'm using your tutorial to line a crocheted shawl. My sister, a quilter, thinks I need to put in a couple of knotted stitches in the middle of the shawl to keep the fabric more in place. I'm thinking the yarn has a lot more stretch to it than the fabric, so I'm not sure this would be such a good idea. What do you recommend?
@ellaphelps9835

Patrice great point, I cut the selvedge off and I will hand wash and lay flat to dry so the shrinkage won’t be much of a factor, but pre washing fabric is best. I’ll be sure to add that to the written instructions:)
