I’m creating crochet headbands/ear warmers with a satin lining. But the lining does not have any stretch. I’ve prepped my 1st test lining (which is slightly longer than my crochet piece) with a stretch cord on each side so I can gather the lining a bit before sewing onto the headband. I love the idea of using the parchment paper underneath because I feel that I need to keep an eye on the lining more so than the crochet side.

I think this is great. I have done change purses that were crocheted and then I put in a lining by hand. This would work a lot better though and be a lot faster. I was trying to find a way to stabilize a crocheted belt so that it would still look got and not stretch out of shape . I think this is going to be a fabulous way to to it. Thank you.

Hi Melanie. I am working on a blanket made of granny squares. Am I correct in assuming that you join all the squares to make the blanket first, then add the fabric as described? If so, how do you deal with loose fabric around the inside area/middle of the project? Do you need to stitch more like a quilt?

soo awesome job. I have a question. what if I have a small throw that was crocheted up but I want to use that piece as if it was fabric and I want to make a pattern with it. Meaning can I sew it and then cut off the rest that isn't needed?
@katewilliams2742
@katewilliams2742 6 лет назад
you can't cut into crochet as you would fabric because it would open up the stitches and the whole row you cut into will fall apart.

I wanted to know how to do this. Not sure which of the sewing machine ways will work best for me. I’m making some crocheted burp cloths with lining of course. The crochet part turned out nice for a gift for a baby shower but they need a Absorbing lining for the spit up. I wasn’t sure how to sew on the lining to withstand the multiple washing. But now the linings will look cute and not be puckered all over. ( I hope).

how would you go about connecting 2 squares that have fabric on them? Im making a blanket where one side is the granny squares and on the back of the granny squares its going to be fabric but i want the fabric on each indivual square rather than one big piece fabric attached to the blanket. If that makes any sense
@majdm5850
@majdm5850 Год назад
You can still wiggle your crochet hook into the stitches and join as you would normally join a granny square. Since you don't want 1 piece of fabric to cover the back means you're aiming for a bit of gaps in between the squares or so i understood. Good luck with your project.
