Here is a quick video I put together to show the basics of starting a 2 stroke RC airplane engine. The most important safety part is to wear a thick leather glove. I do not recommend a chicken stick for several reasons. First it can damage the propeller and you don't get the true feel of the compression stroke. It is important to feel this as it aids in knowing how strongly to flip the prop.
