"I can't just move out or go low or no contact with my family. In Asian cultures we're expected to maintain intertwined lives with our family."
In this video I talk about how to heal and grow even if you're living with unhealthy family and expected to maintain a close relationship with them.
I hope you enjoyed this video, I'll see you in the next one!

Hey Asha! I am facing a bit of difficulty with my parents. My parents tell me they are proud of my achievements but every time I share my achievements to them I am always stressed and filled with feelings of emptiness. I ask them if they feel irritated with me sharing but every time they say it's my delusion. I don't know if the problems lie within me or it's sth to do with my parents. Plz help. Sorry if it was long. Thank you Asha for always supporting us. I hope you r regular with content. All the best!❤

Thank you for this. My mum is Indian and I carry a lot of guilt and feel I have to be a certain way for culture even if I live out of home.

There's a number of subreddits that you might find helpful! www.reddit.com/r/JUSTNOFAMILY/ www.reddit.com/r/raisedbynarcissists/ www.reddit.com/r/CPTSD/ www.reddit.com/r/DysfunctionalFamily/ There are some really helpful facebook groups as well. facebook.com/groups/toxicfamilymemberssupport/ facebook.com/groups/1764634617196934 facebook.com/groups/1673285076264700 facebook.com/groups/1513500492048702/ facebook.com/groups/1063855867077229/ Some of these groups might not apply to you at all, but that's ok! There's tons more and it takes a bit of time to find a group that doesn't just speak to you, but also fosters the right energy. Some groups end up dwelling on negativity. Please watch out for that! Both reddit and facebook are structured in a way that prioritzes posts and comments so it has a more community feel.
