How to Hide Likes on Instagram

Instagram is finally removing likes and views from posts, but it's giving users the option to choose. You can hide likes and views on posts during the posting option, on your existing posts, or account-wide on all posts on your home page.
The account-wide option for hiding likes and views is under settings/privacy/posts. Here, you'll see a new option to hide likes and views.

Most people wait til you get a certain amount of likes and views before they like, view or comment on your posts, they need to see others do it first instead of having a mind of their own…and it’s just a like lol, but they act like they’re giving up money. Followers is the perfect term for social media cause most people are following other peoples actions in order to make a move themselves.

People can still see the amount of people who liked the post anyway. I hope instagram does not show any person anymore when clicking “others” like its completely blank if that make sense? That should “hide like” is all about.

Yeah its so annoying, I thought this update would hide likes completely but it doesn't. Hopefully they will change this in another update but I doubt it. There shouldn't even be an option to see 'others'.

I dont have the "Post" option on the privacy thingy its just comment, tags mentions etc what do I do and ive checked if I have anything to update on Instagram but I dont it just says "open Instagram" no "update "

I have the same problem, it’s very frustrating to see so many others on my TL hide their likes but I don’t have the option yet. From my understanding even though Instagram supposedly did a “full” rollout not all users got the feature yet. And since it’s no way to get in contact with anyone idk when or if I’ll ever get it.

Make your page public, then go to each picture to the top (three dots usually) and put “hide likes”

Question … can you do this on old posts as well or only new ones? I did change the settings on my old posts and I can’t see likes and view counts but when i go to my page from another device as a visitor on the page I can still see it 🤔 why is that ? And how can I fix it ? Thank you 🙏🏻

I’m torn if this new feature is of any benefit since you can see how many likes there are when selecting “others”. Also my personal opinion is If someone removes likes it makes me think why , like I’ll think they aren’t getting many likes , or they struggle with anxiety of the popularity contest of likes and removed it ... it’s a tricky thing really . So torn on it

Same way u put it on is how you remove it...the settings in the post..the 3 dots/bars... and when ur in the settings u hit the blue slider button nxt to that hide likes & views option... till the blue slide button disappears/turns black :)

So isn't the new feature pointless in that case? It doesn't really benefit people who want to hide the like count, if others can just see it anyway.. It's just a different way to view the like count

yup u do it manually, on the upper right u will see the three dots in your pic then there will be "hide like counts"

why does my instagram not have this? does anyone else? i have a new iPhone, the software is up to date. i just deleted and reinstalled Instagram and there is no "hide likes" or "post" option in the settings or when i click the 3 dots on the post. kind of frustrating Edit: okay now it’s there! maybe it just takes time to appear…

It lets me turn off commenting but it doesn’t let me hide views and likes, this just started to occur it wasn’t an issue in the past, I’m not sure what to do.
