You may have samples but it means nothing. I can download a MrBeast video, upload it to my channel and say that I edited it. Anyone who's anyone on RU-vid should and must test applicants. This also goes both ways, how would you feel as a video editor if you lost out on a editor role with a top creator because they selected a video editor who completely lied about the work they completed?
@@JamieOwers you got it all wrong. I never said you shouldn't test your editors, but the samples can show potential clients what they may get. Testing an editor before hiring them is a given.
As a video editor myself I would think anyone who is any good is going to have their own channel or website and a portfolio of work easily to hand, and you will be able to judge for yourself whether they are any good before even contacting them.
Nope. As someone who has now hired hundreds of editors, I've seen editors upload work to their portfolios, claiming to have completed videos themselves when they're uploading videos from my channels. It's happened on multiple occassions now. Just because someone lists work on their portfolio, does not mean they know how to do what they claim. Anyone who's anyone on RU-vid should and must test applicants. Sure there's people who can do what they say but why risk it. A simple test shows you 100% who is the best fit for the role. This also goes both ways, how would you feel as a competent video editor if you lost out on a editor role with a top creator because they selected a video editor who completely lied about the work they completed?
I have 5 script writers. I''ve experiemented with AI with scripts & thumbnails but didn't get the results I was looking for. I deleted several videos off AssassinsDen because of the lower quality from AI. I still us ChatGPT for descriptions and to get a few title ideas but other than that, I don't use it.

tbh, I don't know. RU-vid updated their ToS in June/July to change parts of the YPP. A big reason for this change was to stop channels exploiting AI and making "cheap" content. If you use a good AI software, I'm sure it will be fine. Kwebbelkop is publicly sharing his AI channel all the time and YT support it. I think as long as it's not the clearly obvious AI voice you should be fine but it's an area I'm not familiar with
