I think it's awesome how you referenced having written copy for your job descriptions. To new business owners, what your company _is_ is what you write. Part of what I teach to new business owners is that converting what you learn into written processes is essential!

Loved the video. You guys are great, I look forward to seeing more of your videos. I am helping my boss build our medical practice literally from the ground up. He does not want to hire an outside company to do our payroll at this point, because I am the only employee as of now. So I came across your video, while researching how to run your own payroll. Which by the way I haven't found yet. Anyway, keep up the great videos!

I love the mindset step and I have two uncles who have made mistakes in trying to do everything themselves for too long. It seems like a tough step if you're in the daily grind. With it as my side income I think I have a level of understanding that I can't possibly make this work by myself and scale. Especially with a 1 year old getting ready to walk haha

Yeah I’ve been there multiple times early on in each of my companies where hiring someone took every $1 the business had but I knew I didn’t want to be a one man show. The cool thing in talking with my dad is that one of my ventures alone has more than 10xd his best year ever. I probably wouldn’t have taken the leap if I didn’t watch what happens first hand when you don’t.

I love the video, quick question if you need to grow sales, would you consider hiring a salesperson commission based? If so, at what point would you do it?
@RyanDossey
@RyanDossey 3 года назад
I’ve always done sales for my own companies until it justified a near full time employee. Now I have sales guys in all of my companies.

This is an awesome question. I was actually just speaking with a friend who has been in sales for over 20 years and I mentioned to her that I was thinking about hiring a salesperson 100% commission to do lead generating and I would still be on the sales calls. She said to me that 100% commission is very common, but asked me why I wanted to do the sales calls. I told her that because I know my business best. She said something in return that I never thought of...she said that if she were to see a job posting where she would not be doing the sales calls, she would not be interested!!! I never thought of it that way! Just because I'm not the greatest at sales and am not too fond of sales, I thought that no one would want to do the "dreaded" sales calls!!! She corrected me and said that sales people live for the calls and look forward to them. So if you are thinking about hiring a salesperson, keep that in mind! Hope that helps :)

I would love to hear a video about when you should hire someone. I also wonder if I should do this if I'm still working full time. I'm about to get a management promotion that is going to be hard to leave until I'm making 200k+ in side income and although I want to jump in I know its something I will regret without doing what ever I can to save my time first. Leaving a secure and promising career isn't something I want to do without making every effort to continue it and my side hustle. I want to hire someone the moment I know I've built sustainable and repeatable business. I don't know how I could manage them without being full time

Honestly I tell most investors to hire once they have consistent lead flow to keep an acquisitions manager busy

As a business owner who is putting in the hours to grow and can't afford to waste time figuring all the things involved with hiring because it's not really your strong suit. Are there any companies who take care of all the paperwork and legal aspects?

At the beginning on a trial base is it wise to 1099 an employee to make sure this is exactly what they want to be doing b4 having them to fill out w-2??
@RyanDossey
@RyanDossey Год назад
In my book no. That's not the purpose of a 1099 and if it "doesn't work out" they're more likely to have a leg to stand on to add some stress to your life
