This video explains how to learn and practice the double blip log hoping technique. This technique is good to learn and be familiar with when you get into situations where the logs are suspended with an undercut as well as when you don't have much run up.

If you guys have any other tips that might with the double blip would love to hear them!

For the undercut stuff you want to use the zap. Same idea as the double blip but more aggressive with the clutch and second blip so your rear tire leaves the ground and lands higher on the obstacle. :) Oh and if you're double blipping a rock or log, you want to hold pressure so you land on both wheels on the other side!

This is great! It's something I've been working on also. I think if you master it you can go over a 6" obstacle the same way as a 4' log.

Another great video. I've been practicing log hops, pivot turns and slow wheelies and it's friggen hard!! You guys are good. What I've learned from doing log hops (and watching all the pros), is to try to keep the power on a little longer on the second blip to allow the rear wheel to traction over the log while keeping your front end from dropping down as hard. Easier said than done!

awesome! keep practicing. it's hard to remember to take a break from riding single track and practice some of these skills. really helps when you get back on the trails

I just watched a video by Megan Griffiths (Megs Braap) on the double blip to get over logs. She said goal is to not have front wheel dive down over log, but to climb it and then have both wheels touch down at the same time. Very hard to do. She showed about 10 attempts and got it right maybe 3 out of ten. I'm a very old newbie and just trying to coordinate clutch throttle in various situations.

This is a fundamental move in trials that isn’t as widely used in enduro but it becomes absolutely vital to know In Order to advance especially hard enduro. 😁

Trying hard to learn this one, my buddy I ride with is getting better and better at hard enduro and this technique is what i am missing to get up the latest canyon. I keep tryin it but it is undercut rocks and i end up sitting last minute and loop lol. Actually heading there tomorrow again to give it another go maybe we can work on this double blip before we head up fingers crossed. Thanks for the quick how to vid wish me luck my poor bike really wants me to start making more obstacles as its is much easier on the body and bike when we make it lol Cheers!

I've been practicing these for a year and my bike still wants me to make more obstacles haha. was practicing the double on a vertical ledge we found about handle bar height. Alec got it most of the time. I got it a few times and my pipe got it a few times too haha. on the big stuff its important to remember you need to get your body up over the obstacle even though you start way back to get traction you have to throw your weight up and above the obstacle so your body follows it. hard to do but that helped me on bigger trees and such

@@TrailBoundco Thanks for the pointers and encouragement! Love watching your adventures they always inspire me to want to keep getting better. getting the stand and the jump forward part from my brain to the bike currently I am hoping it will just "click" one time and then get better from there. If all this stuff was easy everyone would do it right. Maybe when i finally get the double blip i will celebrate and order one of your leather tug straps those things are awesome! I appreciate the reply

@@alecbarbieri9416 are you keeping 1 or 2 fingers on the clutch while going over the log?

Matthew Johnston the ideal is two have one index finger on clutch and brake, and be covering your rear brake the whole time. Even when riding around it’s a good practice to keep that finger on the clutch and brake.
@matxhew69
@matxhew69 5 лет назад
@@alec14141414 definitely makes sense. I always struggle keeping a finger on the clutch, doesn't help that my kx has enough low end to throttle out of most anything either haha.
