Hi, Is there a recommended method of removing the spacer at the top once it has fallen into the top groove of the window? I have one window that cannot be lifted out and I think it is for that reason. Also, what is the purpose of the spacer? Is it just to prevent the window from rattling and jumping out of the frame during transport, or should it be left there for some other reason, after installation?
Hi Joe, If the spacer has fallen into the top of the window frame , then it becomes very difficult to get the window out. The spacer will not slide out of the top frame due to the guides in the top frame section. I have had some success getting them out by separating the frame from the glass,( best left to the professionals) but I've also had no success on some windows. They can be quit frustrating when this happens. I believe they were ordinally installed to prevent the window from being lifted out whist in the Locked open position.
