Thank you so much for your great content. We have recently inherited my uncles collection and I'm thoroughly enjoying finding out about the histories and differences between stamps. This is a brilliant video which has helped me understand the differences. I'm off to binge watch the rest of your videos. Thank you 😊
I pick stuff discarded at the curb on trash days and I stumbled on a box full of stamp albums, someone really was into stamp collecting, there are a few envelopes bearing stamps that looks like the stamps in this video.
I need your help lol. I bought an old old huge stamp collection and whoever started it knew what they were doing because she has ledgers and news paper articles from 1963 about stamps and coin collecting, which I didn't get the chance to buy coin correction cause it was all gone except for some empty books and some old silver and a few great coins. But the stamp collection is so much and she must have mailed somewhere every month for years and years cause she has each envelope that she written on and described which stamps are in each envelope, and there's soooooo many. I'm so confused lol. Appreciate your videos.
Going through red 2¢ 1890s Washingtons is like going through a bag of Lincoln cents looking for a sreel cent. You won't find one, nor will you find any of value.
Thanks for thw info, i learned alot. Now to learn the washington/franklin stamps. So many different years. I wonder ifthw yearon back of say a 1908 postcard with stamp was bought that day and mailed out? I mean they tell u day month and year
Do the "postage due" stamps have any value at all? I have been trying to find other stamps of the same type but have not been successful as of yet. Loving your videos too. Subscribed!
I have 2 different variations of the red 2c washington and both look different to the samples you showed. One is 4th Bureau, Im fairly sure and the other I havent identified yet.
My dad passed away and he left me his stamp collection. I figured it was a few stamp books. He had thousands of stamps. He has hundreds of these George Washington stamps in sleeves and with catalog numbers and also has stamps from every country. Looks like a lot of his stamps are from the 1800’s and it seems to me thousands from every country. Also probably every first day issue USA stamps. He has a lot priced from .10 cents upwards of $100’s. So crazy. I don’t even know where to start. He lived in Missouri and I shipped them back. I was not able to ship the catalogs he had. Those are still at his home and plan to ship those to myself eventually. This is becoming a very interesting hobby of mine. Where can I start online ??
I started collecting at 8 years old with a stamp album that had stamp illustrations printed in it to guide me along. Later I discovered the Scott Stamp Catalog in the school library and learned from it. There was no internet back then, but by the time computers came along I was a seasoned collector and had already learned most of what I needed to know. I learned from doing.
❤Hi thank you I have several overprinted Places on US President stamps and some with F ,g and k do they have value appears to me instead of grill on back they have overprinted them please advise.
Hi I have the 2 cents stamp with no caps but doesn’t have any of those water marks mine has a different water mark, it’s like a circle with circles in it, could you help me , thankyou
Great video! I like how you splice in the figures from the catalog. I think your lighting could improve. I suggest an Ottlite model. My big ask is a video on how to distinguish a #260 from a #275. Any resources on that?
Thanks for the informed video. I have a George Washington two cent stamps but none of them look like yours for example the word "cents" stands alone in a straight line while yours have two words "two cents" in a curved line. I'm confused - I'm new to this.
Can you please answer me I have a red Washington stamp triangles have no running lines through it right side number to have on either side to White dot is that rare also spotted some miss colouring in hair tiny town
Hey I found a staple like the ones in this video but it had a difference yours didn't it had a 0 on the outsides of the lower 2's... Please let me know if you know what it is
I have one completely different then all of them? No triangles no perforation and the 2 isn’t in a circle then it has looks like wheat 🌾 around the frame of the face any idea on that ones value 🤨
Okay- now what if they have no circle on them? I have 2 of these cool stamps and they don’t match any of these variations. They have zero circles around the 2. Im going to sell them for cheap- but I want the buyer to keep the paper in tact that they are on.
Yes! I have found that understand the why behind stamp characteristics helps me better understand and identify them. I don’t recall why the caps on these but my guess is either a flaw in the way the printing plates were made or this was intentionally done in order to distinguish a different printing company or process. Thoughts?
I have two 2cent George Washington red stamps that don’t look like any of those. One is from 1918 postcard sent, the other is uncirculated. I really need help identifying them
