Main issue I have is determining what country the press was in. A lot of mine do not have the country on the disc. Any suggestions?

many times the cat# differs from country to country. But not always. You just have to compare the labels (and dead wax etchings) closely and look for clues

I have a question, and what if you do not have any barcode or reference of the vinyl. Only a photo of the cover in different character letters. How can we dig it ... There is any a.i. app ?

Nothing pre-1980 will have a bar code or UPC. And unfortunately the album cover isn’t much help. You need to compare the disc labels and/or the etchings in the dead wax (the inner circle outside the label

How can you tell on discogs when a 2nd press begins?

Not as easy as that. Every album/pressing/cycle differs. Some "first pressings" stay in stock and avail for months or years. Others sell out fast and a subsequent pressing is needed based on demand. Many popular albums gets 2-3 pressings in the year they are released.

If you're trying to match an exact pressing on Discogs, then yes.

You want to scan the barcode 100% of the time if it has a barcode

Still does not explain how to identify which pressing. That seems to be the big mystery. Could be 2 or 3 pressings. Even the vinyl inscriptions are too cryptic.
