The BEST INDIA Ayurveda experience! & How to eat Kerala local food with HANDS!? Sadya Kochi 2024 🇮🇳
HELLO EVERYONE!
Thanks so much for watching our video. Please like and subscribe to our stuff so we can keep exploring INDIA!!
Today was an adventure. In this 2024 vlog, Keenan and I are totally immersing ourselves into a REAL and LOCAL Kerala Ayurvedic Experience. Many foreigners will come to India for an Ayurveda experience but often times they can be scams and you truly have to find the right practitioner, so do your research before taking this on. And you may be asking, DOES IT EVEN WORK? I mean, it’s an ancient practice for a reason that far outshoots western medicine practices. Besides, while western medicine practices constantly change and evolve, Ayurveda stays the same… and even more interesting, I am noticing a trend where Western countries are even recognizing the need more natural and holistic approaches and integrating them within modern medical practices. In this video, our friend who is a Marma healer will discuss ayurveda while treating Keenan. Moreover, he will get into the lifestyle later on while we are having a local and traditional Sadya in this vlog.
Sadya is a staple Kerala lunch dish. Trying this and eating with my hands was an amazing experience! Sadya is made up of kerela style rice, poppadom, mango pickel, a variety of different curries, and, of course, a BANANA LEAF as the plate. How cool?! We loved the food! Ours was a seafood sadya because the seafood in Kerala is a common cuisine and completely INSANE. We had clams, squid, banana leaf fish, crab, and of course fish curry (a Kerala specialty). Best part was this place was completely local. I mean NO tourist has ever stepped foot in this local Kochi food spot… A HIDDEN GEM!. The people were quite surprised to see us!! Another part of this was that Sharom showed us HOW TO EAT WITH OUR HANDS. I would have never thought there was a technique for this. In fact, for Mallus (Maliyali people/ Keralites) eating with hands and eating in general is an EMOTION.
And let’s not forget our breakfast, beef and porotta (for me not Keenan) which is Kerala’s pride and joy. The beef was from a local street vendor in Fort Kochi and THE BEST I’VE HAD. In fact, I am FULLY aware we need make a full youtube video on this, hence why it was shortened. Absolutely amazing amazing. The beef was so succulent making you think “HOLY COW, IS THIS INDIA?!” Not only that, we also tried a DELISH Kerala snack, kozhukattai!! It is made from rice dough and inside is a coconut jaggery mix. It is sweet and a perfect way to end a street food meal.
Thanks again for watching!
Lots of Love Always,
Mac & Keen
