I have used this case for my 8plus for 4 years straight never had an issue with scratches on the apple logo but I do hate the look of the cutout I think it would better without any cutouts and the case with get more grippy over time just remember to wash it every week or so to get any grease or stains off of it as it gets slippery when its dirty
