How to improve your sitting trot with Kirstin Kelly. This video gives you the two thoughts which hardly any coaches tell you. Riders often struggle to sit to the trot and as they try harder they become more stiff and rigid in their lower backs. Kirstin explains that trying to sit or bounce in the rhythm of the trot is the first step rather than trying to sit still. The next thing is that you need to relax your bottom muscles then you'll find that it is easier to relax the hips and allow them to pivot up and down to absorb the bounce of the trot steps. This is really tough so you need to keep reminding yourself to do this.
