A lot of the deficiencies listed from dopamine sounds like a lot of the things I’m feeling, I mean a lot, I’m on anti depression so would it be safe for me to use tyrosine? I just got some vitamin d3 because of the use in mood improvement. I’ve also looked at trt and my levels were really low and then low normal. Overall I feel horrible and hopeless and all I have recently are negative feelings and thoughts
@@djimiwreybigsby5263 I really hope so. If it doesn't work for you (because dopamine isn't the only cause of depression) then please look into my new online course. It teaches you how to treat depression and anxiety naturally by addressing the underlying causes (poor diet, gut health, food intolerances, nutritional deficiencies). Very straight without the usual drama and time wasters we tend to see on most videos; I love Dr. Sinclairs style. I badly need to work on my digestion and my iron levels. Thank you doctor
Now they seem to push cod liver oil for amazing benefits. Claim it is a better anti inflammatory than turmeric. You get vitamin d and a, your epa and dha? (Spelling), and probably a lot more benefits. One has to be careful with cod liver oil, majority is so processed that they wind up adding vit a & d. Find a good one, the oil should always be refrigerated. No pill forms. BTW, thanks for your comment, I remember reading about fish oils and how good they are for the brain.
59F who has always tested in the Normal range of Ferritin, but on the very low end,… Not one Doctor has ever made any reference to said, until a few months ago. It was suggested to supplement with a low dose, and just see how things go… So i’ve been taking Sisu @25mg (5X’s per week) and have noticed a big difference in my strength & stamina during physical activities !!! FYI >Our power went out on the weekend, and I had to climb the stairwell 4 floors, more times than I would have liked,… Last year, my legs would feel like jello just below the 2nd flight, so I couldn’t be more pleased & grateful to the nurse who casually mentioned the above-noted 🙏🏼
Thank you for posting this. You give straight forward information without the fluff and drama. I am subscribed and will be back often to learn more from you. Take care and have a great day!!!!!!!!
Tried to stop coffee many many times before and always relapsed after a few days due to the massive depression and lack of motivation to do anything. Its not a real derpression coz I cured it with two strong coffe cups so many times before... This time I got some tyrosine, vit b6, folate, and wating for my Iron suplment to arrive. I hope it works. Tyrosine with some hot cocoa drink did help me a lot this morning, but I still miss that kick in the ass that coffee gives me. That feeling that no matter what - you can handle it.
So glad I found your video. It's been very informative, I experience "can't be bothereditis" on a daily basis and have done so for many years. I have been concerned that my brain chemistry is out of kilter but now think it's more tied into my adrenal function, I often feel drop dead tired in the afternoon and struggle to get out of bed in the mornings. Your information has given me some hope that I can address my apathy. Thank you.
Adrenal fatigue perhaps. How do you handle sugar? Do you eat processed foods or do you cook your own? Do you think you might be hypoglycemic? Treat sugar like the plague, and caffeine is deadly on the adrenals. Try to eat lots of fresh complex carbs. Leafy lettuce and other nutritious vegetables. Even carrots are a no no, considered a simply carb or it covers to sugar. Also potatoes. Good luck.
Here I am Doctor M Ashraf MD almost everyday watching your beautiful short lectures I feel so nice and really an important to a common person( love you from India , and wishing you all the best)
When take phenylalanin, when take tyrosine and when mucuna (with l dopa)?? All three claim to boost the dopamine level How do they get through the blood brain barrier?
Excellent video, very tight content. Liked and subbed. Two very minor suggestions. The audio quality was somewhat poor. Between each tip it was not necessary to repeat the full title of the video.
A few pieces of dark choc will make grelin go down and your sugar cravings should get better whilst still being able to have a little treat. 75% upwards. Fasting helps with sugar cravings too.
Thanks Dr Janelle for your invaluable advice. May I suggest you use a stand alone more professional microphone, because the current sound is rather noisy.
This video is very helpful but would it be possible to fix the ruffled sound in the background it is very distracting and makes the audio difficult to hear
Hi Janelle, Please talk about Ashwagandhaha, many people who have depression say it's work. My best friend used it and she feels better. I want to hear from you before I start using it, thanks 🌹
Hi Dr Janelle. I’m taking 300 mg 5-HTP product that also contains 600 mg of fava beans in it. To my knowledge fava beans is high in folate. Is it fine to take this 5-HTP product along with a 400 mcg folic acid supplement or that would be too much folate in my body?
Thank you Dr Janelle... I owe you for this informative video.. I'm planning on breaking my addiction cold turkey from tomorrow.. this video is much needed for me to increase my dopamine level, naturally.... Really, doctor, I owe you alot for this... Please remember me in your prayers.. i really really have to break my bad habits, for good this time... Otherwise, I'll be ruined... God bless you Dr Janelle..
I just bought all the vitamins and supplements that are involved in dopamine production while taking an NDRI medications, the way i see it either i improve or my liver and kidneys give out and i am out
I took a thyroid supplement with 100 gr/cap and I took one morning and one at lunch. After lunch I felt high, so high, like giggly, couldnt concentrate, felt one with the floor, it was crazy. I ll keep on taking it cause i need it for my thyroid tho
I take L-Lysine 500mg, L-tryptophan 1000mg, L-phenylalanine 500mg, all at once in the evening. Sometimes when i remember i take also L-glutamine. Soon i will get L-acetyl carnitine. I ordered on the internet some days ago...
@@DrJanelleSinclair- Hi Doctor, What can you take instead of coffee in the morning to WAKE YOU UP? (As you have said to avoid caffeine) - Would greatly appreciate your feedback - Thanks
What would you consider to be ideal ferritin levels for a 40-year old man? I have had doctors tell me conflicting information. Thanks for the great video.
They sell an suplement with 5-HTP 100mg SAMe-75mg B6-10mg B12-0.5mg Inositol-100mg Honestly, i don't really like the effects of this combination. Never tried 5-HTP on its own, should I take only that?
Hi Dr Janelle Sinclair, I took anti anxiety medication for 12 days then my dopamine receptors got damaged no pleasure and desire in my life from last 4 months i am completely off my meds. What i can do to regain my dopamine activity
Mam I have been suffering from obsessive compulsive disorder since my childhood. I have been on antidepressants (paroxetine) for 3 years .Gradually I started noticing decline in my ability to feel pleasure while communicating with people, or hobbies . Doctors say that it is the side effect of certain medications that numb emotions and that it will go when they change the type of antidepressant. But I faced the same from other antidepressants as well. Also I have been on buproprion but it gives me serious mood swings and gastric issues. I suspect that I have dopamine deficiency due to which SSRIs are troubling me . Maam can you suggest what course of treatment I should take
I'm sorry Tanya but Dr Janelle cannot give specific recommendations especially with regards to medication. She suggests you watch the videos on zinc deficiency, blood sugars and vitamin D. Another option is to make an appointment with Dr Janelle via her website www.drjanellesinclair.com/consulting
I know this is an older video but I have a question regarding caffeine use for ADHD issues. I have found that caffeine really seems to help my son with his school to be more focused but now concerned about the further depletion of dopamine by it's use. I am getting ready to start him on both L-Tyrosine and HTP, should I stop the use of caffeine earlier in the day that he's been drinking while using L-Tyrosine and HTP? Thank you for your videos, they are been a wealth of information for me!
That’s why a healthy correct form of Ketogenic lifestyle works...Keto pretty much blanket cover those bullet points and fit right in helping to support an efficient dopamine level. Add liver to your diet will help even if you are on Keto already, it is a very nutritious food along with oysters. Eat your spinach and avocado, Belgium endive is great choice. I’m not a fan of fast food or dirty keto, get your meat, fat, and dairy products from grass fed animals as much as possible because you are what you eat. Honestly, a daily healthy Keto meal will include some form of greens, not much but it will definitely have that. I’ve tried carnivore diet, it worked very well but it is not sustainable for me personally. Keto is more suitable and realistic for me if I want to go long term. Health is life long investment and project.
Hi Dr Janelle, I'm very sure I have a deficiency in dopamine, I had long-term undiagnosed diabetes and the symptoms for avolition seem to fit now also. I want to supplement with tyrosine but unsure whether to use straight tyrosine or n-acetyl l-tyrosine.. Could you please give me some guidance please. Thanks for the great video.. Best Regards.
I found that by eating lots of cat food, dog food and toilet bowl cleaners, I naturally increased my dopamine level's! So,if I don't die from chemicals .. I will live longer! You know what I mean Vern ?
Hello Dr. Sinclair, I appreciate your straight forward videos and am learning so much from them. Just out of curiosity what is your standpoint on veganism? You think there could be resulting mental health problems due to a lack of certain amino acids and nutrients? Best regards
Nothing said on the dopamine receptors though and how to replenish those. Can dopamine supplementation inhibit the growth of the receptors? Do you recommend a dopamine detox prior to supplementation?
If someone doesn't respond to Tyrosine adequately, you can add in a small amount of 5HTP. It helps make the body be more responsive/sensitive to Tyrosine I believe.
Hmm. About the coffee/caffeine. In your COMT video it mentioned that -/- genotypes could benefit from caffeine as it could slow dopamine metabolism. But this video seems to counter that point. Am I understanding that correctly?
Hi Dr Sinclair. Can you make a video on how likely it might be to develop a tolerance to taking isolated Tyrosine & Phenylalanine Supplements? And which one is best to boost dopamine without building tolerance?
Doctor of biochemistry (PhD) from Basel Switzerland. Worked in the natural medicine field for 14+ years. I work in my own clinic in Hamilton, New Zealand.
Both are neurotransmitters that impact mood. Check out my video called l-tyrosine and 5-htp. It'll explain the differences between dopamine and serotonin
I took l tyrosine and the first 2 days went well energy and mental alertness came back day 3 and on right back to square one . It's like my body got use to it any idea what happened here?
Do you know how to Restore dopamine to fix akathisia induced by medication withdrawal like from benzodiazepines and then put on antipsychotics and that induces it even worse because I thought I had mania from bipolar but it was cessation from being dependent on benzodiazepine for 12 years in the antipsychotics made it worse
Hi Why not nobody and you dont talk about suplements b6 b9 cooper iron magnesium etc. which must consumed with amino acid because he has got better absorbed. This write in some science work. Kind Regards
thank you for video! 1 more question about l -tyrosine...I read that it was research that Tyrosine supplement can decrease insulin and increase bloodsugar , what do u think about it?I have insulin resistance so I scared to take ltyrosine but it helps me very good with my panic attacks....
I work on 1 gram of protein per kilogram of bodyweight. It's an easier calculation for most people. Keep in mind I'm also talking kilograms and you're talking pound. 👍
Thx I have add I recently realized how important vitamin b tyresine protein is for me to have mental clarity. I eat more fat and protein rich food and vinegar now with low carbs and fasting it does the world of a difference along with excersize. Great to learn healthy ways to get dopamine.
Can any one help me to overcome from situation??? 😒😒 I am not able to fully concentrate in anywork.... I feel something is in my mind.... I feel something blockage is there for any think.... So by this I cant able to be in positive.... It decreases my interest and reduce my confidence....
