Hi Michelle, I am a guitarist of 55+ years. At 70, I am having some thumb & wrist joint arthritic issues. Your pencil/finger exercises are extremely helpful with isolation, strengthening and especially proper alignment. I can almost play without distracting pain. So I am adding a pencil to my daily micro finger exercises. Thank you!
Thank you for this exercise! My index finger, top joint, is stiff and swollen. This movement immediately brought some flexibility into that joint! No special tools required!👍
Outta all massages and exercise’s never thought that a pencil can help me sm I used a pen but will be using a pencil for the next couple days . First day trying this and so far it’s been a relief thank you 🙂
Thank you for these videos I love them!. The most helpful have been the pencil exercises, I also like the "radial walk." I see improvement after one week! Yay! I complete two videos 2-3 times in the week so far. The extra stretch with the pencil has provided me with Relief!! thank goodness, and the "power claw" with a highlighter is working well. Thank you so much!!
Wow I did it while the video was going. Although it stung at times my finger get I think feel better. I used a pen but will have to find a pencil and pad it a bit. But I think it helped. I have trigger finger that hurts sometimes to be elbow, or it also hurts in the fleshy part of my hand. Thanks
thanks for the video! as a musician, developing finger independence is crucial for a good technique.and as far as know, the middle and ring finger's tendons are connected to each other which for example makes It difficult to bend down the middle finger independent from the ring finger or lift the ring finger independently.is there an exercise to stretch that tendon connection down towards the wrist, so that you can move your middle and ring finger with more freedom and get a more control over them?
Hi Michelle, thanks for the amazing video! Does it matter if the wrist is in a neutral upright position/slightly flex/extend when I do this exercise? Which position would help mobilize FDP excursion most?
Can you have a video which i can move my pinky and ring finger on their own?,, im trying to strengthen too, but i dont know the exercise to do it... hope u can help me so i can do the pen spinning, thank u
Hi Michelle, i had a boxer fracture and went through an surgery. Cast is removed after 4 weeks. After 10 days my MP flexion had increased but my PIP flexion and extension is very bad. I am doing this pencil exercise but it sting a lot(painful). how long will it take so that i can have significant range of motion or i can make a fist?
