How to increase (inc) single crochet stitches in the round

I think that would mean. One increase, followed by *6 sc in the stitched that follow on (not the increase)* which * would then be repeated how ever many times it asks for. Sorry for the late reply. Hope this helps if you didn’t get an answer

Hm I'm not super sure. Every pattern designer writes things a little bit differently. It might mean that you're supposed to put 3 sc in the same hole? But to be safe, I'd recommend reaching out to a pattern designer!

inc and sc are abbreviations for stitches. inc is short for "increase", which is what this video shows. It's 2 sc in the same stitch. Same idea - just put 2 double crochet stitches in the same hole!

The Woobles I will most definitely let you know! i've been crocheting since the 5th grade, and now i'll be an 11th grader this year after summer. one thing that i've always struggled with is motivation, actually. do you think you could do a video on some advice you would give/methods to keep yourself inspired while working on a project? also, i have no idea how someone could've disliked this! most of the videos about this are either old or unclear, and yours has a perfectly clear demonstration as far as how it's done, and i like that very much! keep it up :)

So that I can answer your question well, are you wondering how I keep myself inspired while following someone else's crochet pattern, or on any project that I work on (like making these videos, or even projects unrelated to crochet)? If it's about how I keep myself motivated to finish making someone else's crochet pattern, I actually try to crochet while watching TV or, pre-pandemic days, while riding the subway. It makes me feel doubly productive! I also tend to pick patterns that I want to learn something from - a new stitch, a new technique, or maybe I just really really like how it looks - and that keeps me motivated to work through it at least until I hit that learning point. I hope that helps!

The Woobles I may have been doing it for a long time, but I'm so forgetful I just forget the really simple things and need a gentle reminder sometimes! Not to mention I have the attention span of a toddler. Both would be good! I'm not very good with motivation stuff, and I can hardly get through simple tasks sometimes (i have depression), and thank you so much for sharing how you motivate yourself to finish! I usually have music in the background ( i can't concentrate without noise), and I usually stick to stuff i'm most familiar with, BUT I am trying something new! Currently i'm working on a few stuffed animals for my family that i'm visiting, and that's in august so I reaaallyy have to focus on that. I will try some of the things you have recommended and see how it affects me, thank you very much for replying!

If it says 4 inc it means to do 1 inc in each of the next 4 holes

Happy to help! You're repeating the sequence of 3 sc followed by an increase stitch a total of 3 times. So that would be something like this: sc, sc, sc, inc sc, sc, sc, inc sc, sc, sc, inc The number in the parentheses is the number of stitches you should have at the end of the round. Since an increase stitch is shorthand for 2 single crochet stitches in the same hole, those count as 2 stitches when you're counting the total number of stitches and that's how you wind up with 15 stitches at the end of round 3.

"sc 2, inc" means to do 1 sc in 1 hole, 1 sc in the next hole, then 1 inc in the next hole

@@janinemartinez9584 Are you wondering what it means if it says "(sc 2, inc) x 7"? If so, that means you think of the (sc 2, inc) as a sequence of 1 sc, 1 sc, then 1 inc. Each of those stitches is in a different hole. You do that sequence a total of 7 times.
