@@rizqibayumantari6769 Wrong approach, don't shy out, every player no matter the level has a special skill that many might appreciate without you even knowing it.. in today's standards (if i would care) i¡m a mediocre guitar player, but when jamming with those technical machines (over talented players) they envy one talent i naturally had since a kid, its called improvising and that is hard to learn..... And remember the majority of the rock/pop hits are songs with very basic structures, few notes and simple melodies enhanced with vocals etc... Thats something youngsters and technical minded players tend to forget, the basic music listener cannot tolerate too technical stuff... so its up to you if you want to play& create music for musicians or for audiences.....

This guy is a good teacher...he is (intentionally or unintentionally) using the "sandwich method". You star with a slice of bread (compliment the student on something he is doing good), the meat is the criticism (i.e. telling the student what he is doing incorrectly) and finish with a slice of bread (reaffirm the compliment). If I had a teacher, this is the guy I would want to teach me.

Michael Angelo has always inspired people, myself included, to practise more and more importantly, practise slowly to give your brain enough time to process licks at a slow speed just so the player can speed up afterwards. Now watching this video has reminded me how lucky we are to have access to such great material from a legendary guitarist. Thank you so much for everything MAB !

Great lesson, Mike. The phrygian fella has a nice sense of melody. It's a great teacher that can take something and show some results to a student in an instant, especially a technique that takes years of practice and dedication. I'm sure this inspired them to go home and practice this. Kudos, Mike.

Great insights. I got to meet Michael two days in a row years ago, once at a clinic he was hosting at a neighboring town and the next day at a solo set he did at a bar close to where I live. At the end of the show he let people pose with his dual guitar onstage, and he said that it looked natural in my hands as I was "playing" it, which is to date the best compliment I've gotten from a famous musician. Point of that story was to echo everyone's sentiment of how genuine Michael is. Hell I'm mainly a keys player now but watching this makes me want to put hours into guitar like my teenage years. haha

I will never forget watching Michael on one of his star licks video's back in 1986....one of his secrets was telling his mum he was too sick to go school so he could get more time to practise! That was hilarious Michael !

Some fun fact from the past: Many years ago when I was watching some of Michael's video for the first time I was absolutely sure that it was sped up, it looked just impossible to play so fast and clear at the same time :D Now, from many years' perspective I see how wrong I was then. It's heartwarming that one of the best guitar player on this planet is so kind and humble guy, cheers! :)

Michael, you're a great person with extraordinary skill in playing guitar. You're always complimenting everyone and focus on the positive aspect of each person. Apart from your musical talent, one thing is to have the knowledge or be an expert in something and another different beast is to be good at transmitting or teaching what you know. You're very good at teaching and that's something not every pro can make.

- Hand synch is life. - Fretboard knowledge: play exercises up and down the neck. (I'm assuming this is the equivalent to what Joe Pass once said, "Play the same lick in all positions.") - Play fast, no matter if it sounds sloppy. Feel the need for speed... \m/ Thank you so much, Michael Angelo.

That was brilliant to watch. Been following you since my first days of playing guitar (2009) and I have to say that you're still my favorite shred/virtuoso guitar player. Took me years to at least nail the A minor sweep arpeggio at 12 fret so hopefully I'm still doing something right yet there's a lot of room to improve. Thanks for inspiration Michael, hope to finally see you someday in Russia (and I know you've visited my country multiple times).
