I don't know why I'm here, but this is all intuitive. I learned on my own. Maybe it's the cold weather, but today the tire just gets flatter the more I try to add air.
I've always found that the gas station will turn the air on free as long as you purchase gas first. Tell the attendant when you pay for the gas that you'd like to use the air as well. save yourself a buck...
Great video! Explains clearly, good answers to "why" questions, and great use of images. Many videos don't focus on the specific visual that is most useful. This was very well done! Thanks you for uploading!
I feel the anxiety already😭 as someone that doesn’t read directions and doesn’t know where my tire pressure check thing is, this is asking too much. And then mention my spare tire that’s probably also flat. I’ll just continue taking it to the shop😭 exactly why I need a man in my life
First, look on the tire for the max PSI if you are not the car's first owner, or if you have purchased tires since you've owned the car. Always go w/ the max PSI listed on the sidewall of the tire. Second, take the valve stem caps off before paying for the air (if $ is required). The air only runs for so long, so don't waste time fiddling w/ little caps on each tire while the clock is ticking.
What the he'll all air pumps at the petrol stations in the UK have a digital screen you just set the psi and it automatically shuts of when it reaches selected pressure. We had had this style of pump for the last 30 years. This video seems alot of messing.
I feel like an idiot. I went to the gas station to do this on a low tire pressure. Instead... I let all the air out and couldn't figure out why I cant plug the compressor in all the way without releasing air.... Uhh. I still don't know till this day haha.
Not only it's free in Brazil, but the pump is also digital and will sense the tire pressure until it reaches the desired amount... This system that you guys have in North America is super primitive!
I am here because my dad is on vacation. I am a woman and I feel like a deer caught in headlights with filling up the tires. Why didn't they have classes like thos at school. 😅
i always heard go by the pressure reading on the actual tire, not the car door, they are often different, and usually the tires will hold more air than it says on the door.
Don’t ever go by the tire. The door tells you the recommended pressure. The tire tells you the maximum. You’ll wear out the tires faster by going by the maximum.
Step 2,, read the max pres off the TIRE NOT the door sticker. And always inflate your tires to ATLEAST this pres for best resulz. Or wait, was it min 50 lb psi divided by the amount of tires on your car.
Tire pressure guage Owners manual Air hose Check tires first thing in morning Check door jam for info Purchase a portable compressor Remove stem cap and put in pocket Put hose on valve stem Read guage on pump If too much After done put back on stem cap
This is completely untrue. The amount of air required to die from air embolism is thousands to millions of times greater than the amount of air that gets trapped in blood when exposed to a high-pressure jet of air. Surgery often leaves tiny amounts of air in a person's bloodstream, which gets filtered out by the body, yet people go into surgery every day with no problem.
If you have no idea how to inflate tires, just ask yourself how do you inflate your blow up doll. Serious though, just stop by your local tire shop and they will be more than happy to check the air pressure.
In India, we have people in gas stations with advanced air filling machines (even nitrogen) who inflate the tires for us, FOR FREE! You can tip them if you want but they don't take it. The world should learn from India how to provide a service.
Thank you for this video! Women like me need all the help we can get when it comes to driving. In fact, we probably should stay off the roads and in the kitchen, just to be safe!
Why not? I mean, you have to take care of your car. If your tire pressure gets too low, it could damage your tires. Why shouldn't you be able to take care of your own car? You make no sense at all. Of course people should be driving cars and getting their tire pressure checked out.
Mata Pegheata 1. Patriarchy teaches girls in school how to bake cookies and boys how to change tires; 2. women don't know how to fill tires; 3. males mock women researching how to fill their tires; 4. women feel bad about themselves; 5. cycle continues.
