I picked up a used L3 Si cable transmission and decided to go over the steps I took to inspect what I can prior to purchasing the transmission. I also talk about how to determine whether it's a 90-91 and how to check if it's a Si transmission.

For amateur DIY mechanic out there, it’s not a good idea to take apart the housing just to check the gears inside due to common problem that can arise like misalignment especially if the trans has that locking clamp system from one of the shafts…however everything else of your inspection on this vid is more than enough

ok when getting a Transmission what is a good price range for a used one? $2,500 - $3,000? Or lesser

Are you asking about the honda cable transmission or other vehicles. The price for a used one depends on the engine its for, the area you live in, and the condition of the transmission. A good example is I'm from Vancouver, Canada. A cable transmission for a 88-91 civic ranges from free to $100 cad. But the same transmission can be $300+ usd in California. So you have to know your market for a good price range.

I wish I could provide you something, but only people that frequently work on your specific vehicle in your area would know the prices. Or those that keep an eye out for spare parts in your area would know. I mostly know about older Honda stuff.

I have a 2004 Toyota Camry How do you know if your getting the right transmission that will fit your car is there a number on the transmission is self???

Yes, there's usually a sticker with the serial number on transmissions. The printing on that sticker should indicate what transmission it is. You'll need to then match it with your current transmission or match to the transmission code that you know will fit.

Quick question i picked up a trans from the junkyard for my 99 integra but the input shaft wont spin, they did drain the fluid could that be my problem.

It should spin the same with or without fluid. If you can't spin the input shaft, then there's something wrong inside. Probably best to take it apart and see whats wrong inside. But it should always spin freely.
