Couldnt locate both heater plug on my gf's Dodge dart and my Focus st... what a pain in the ass the installation will be, but worth the -35 we had in Quebec recently. Thanks!
much better to have the plug in the grill under the licenseplate than have it hanging out of the bonnet. if you have it hanging out you have to open the hood evertime you want to plug it in
The guy at Oreilly’s just said the orientation of the block heater had to be just perfect otherwise it would destroy the engine. I don’t see why that would matter. Do you?
Hi I have 2012 ford fusion and it has block heater .. just wanted to know where i have to take this cord out. Everytime i m using my hood is open. There is no room through front bumper for the cord to come out. And with hood open and when i lock car it make noise. Where i need to get this cord out
how long is the process approximately? usually that's the kind of stuff i'd do myself but i just moved across the country and have no house with garage yet and temp drops to -50. I just took an appointment to do it in a couple days but i'm worried the garage might try to screw me over. seems like something simple and fairly fast so just in case they try to pretend it took them 3 hours when it should be 30-45min i just want a good way to tell them off. Btw i have 2011 ford fusion. 4 cylinders.
SO pissed. JUSt was out in the garage trying to do this. Apparently #17890 is Not the correct block heater. Pulled the plug, made complete mess on the garage floor only to find the block heater is NOT the same thread as the plug The correct # is 3100138 which is 3/4" NPT
@@bennyramirez171 there is one bolt further toward the driver side. Just put your hand behind the block and feel around you’ll find it. They don’t have just random bolts sticking out there there will probably only be 1 only that you can take out everything else is connected to hoses etc (if any).
