I've had two catalytic converters stolen from Honda Elements in Tulsa, OK. I installed another brand's catalytic protector on one of Elements afterward, which cost about $200 w/ shipping and took several hours to install; and looked ridiculous if you looked under the vehicle, but it was never stolen again. After buying my 23' Tacoma and looking up the cost of replacing the catalytic converters, I ordered and installed the Cali-Raised Shield for $190 w/ shipping (includes 2 shields, one for each cat), which took less than 30 minutes to install. They look amazing and have easily been the best value upgrade I've ever done to a vehicle. I highly recommend this product.
I just put mine on. Took me 90 minutes but only because the security bolts did not line up clean and were shorter than the factory bolts. Also, the impact driver didn’t like the fit and I wasn’t about to strip holes on my new pickup. In the end I wound up re-using the factory bolts which mated nicely with the holes and worked in better with the wrench. I will say, these shields are REALLY going to piss someone off trying to get to the cats. If they get the other bolts off I’ll be impressed. Really dig the product 2023 Tacoma 4x4
Installed yesterday on my 19. Took about 3 hours. I did not use a lift or jack and managed to get under my truck to do it. Bolts were corroded and the shield did not sit flat where the security bolts go through so i got my jack from the trunk and pushed it into place and bolted it down. Parts kit came with only one washer for long bolts, so no washer on back side of transmission support. Luckily i had some on hand, but was disappointed with that. Be careful with security bolts, you can easily strip them out. Overall, not too bad of install.
I just installed mine. I wish I would have watched this video first. The ones I watched were the older design where it went over the transmission mount. Once I realized it had changed, the passenger side install was done in half the time.
@@CaliRaisedLED why keep the 2 security bolts together on one end of the support bar? Since there are two bolts on each end, why not place one security bolt on each end for added security at BOTH ends of the support bar? Perhaps I’m missing something here?
So it would help to say if you have the full skid set installed the cat covers will be a very tight fit and one of the 2 hanging bolts will have to be removed to install and the cross bars will not fit the cat covers with the full skid plates (front, trans, transfer) will install but leave off the cross bars and remove one cross bar bolt and tighten all bolts and complete.
Can I install this shield on my 2021 Tacoma 2.7L 4WD? I was thinking to buy them, because the price is really good and just use one side of it. Can someone give an idea?
Will these catalytic converter plates work (compatibility) with a full Cali Raised (front, transmission, transfer case) skid plate set up? If so, which full skid plate for a 3rd Gen Tacoma is compatible?

Hi it looks like I have an older version of the catalytic converter shield that requires me to completely remove the bolts for the transmission crossbar to install the product, is it safe to completely remove the transmission crossbar bolts for 1 side at a time?
I didn't have to completely remove them. Not sure if that's a good idea actually. I just pushed them in so they were flush and it went on fine after jacking the driver's side of the truck up a bit.
What extra nuts and bolts? You're reusing the bolts on the crossmember and replacing 2 bolts per side with security Torx on the diagonal brace and that's it. 4 new bolts, 4 washers and a rubber bumper to prevent rattling of the far end.
Just easier to put in IMHO you don't have to go up and over the crossmember and that just seems like a better design. It also makes for broader compatibility with various mid-skid designs.
Never got mine cause you guys kept giving me the runaround about completing the order after waiting 2 weeks past your deadline. Poor customer service and that stopped me buying anything from you or recommending anything to my friends and off roading community.
Be prepared to wait six weeks or longer for them I waiting six weeks haven’t showed up at my door it’s probably the raw material they can’t get a hold it probably will be here next two weeks maybe not gonna hold my breath on it either
Mine finally showed up, and because of their poor packing principles (loose brown paper) One of mine is scratched, to hell, but apparently their warranty doesn’t cover this. Not to mention, I don’t want to wait another eight weeks without installation and risking theft. It would be so easy to package these better so that the underside of my truck looks as good as the upside.
@@martinmck505 good for you got yours i’m going on 9 weeks and still haven’t got mine yet go figure with this company very slow manufacturing it’ll probably be here end of next week maybe or maybe 10 week it might show up
@@Lima_87 mine just got shipped today so Tuesday will be 10 weeks so it took 10 weeks to get the them they must be very difficult to get them in a timely manner
Got mine over the weekend with a 2-3 week wait. I think for the 2WD are quicker to obtain than the 4x4 ones. Quality looks good and seems to be the newer design too.
